It's unlikely that pop-up lights would be on a future car... I'm not aware of any current model that has them. Besides, I read somewhere that in Europe those lights are now illegal due to the increased chance of injury to pedestrians in case of an accident (but I'm not sure if that's correct info).
For the record, i also like the pop-up lights... the RX-7 had sweet ones and one of the many things I liked about my Ford Probe GT were those lights as well. My favorite lights of this kind were on the BMW 8-series... low profile, wide lenses, very nice.

Flip lights are passé. No major manufacturer that I can think of still uses them -- too much added complication, cost, weight, etc. These days headlights can be incorporated so seamlessly that there's no more aerodynamic advantage to be gained. I think they look cool too, but I'd be surprised to even see a car with flip lights again.
