Anybody know if Mazda has a 2006 Shinka on display at the LA auto show? If they do I'll have to make the trek down to see it. I would like to see how the interior and copper red exterior looks in person.

 

The San Jose Auto Show, which ends tomorrow, has no Rx-8s at all. Apparently, they're promoting the other Mazdas, since they don't have any 2006 RX-8s to sell.

 

I was there.

They brought the Shinka version, too.

I'm not sure it was a '05 or '06, but the exterior color was red. (Copper Red perhaps?)

The interior was very nice, especially the leather seat. (sand color)

BTW, I like the color of '05 Shinka (Dark purple?) a little more than the one displayed in L.A auto show.

 

OK people, just got back from the show. Here's the 07 Shinka.

The color is fugly!!! yuk.

Shot with my smartphone so the pics are not very clear. The date of manufacture is 09/05. The smart key is cool. The seats are nice. Felt like suede, might be the alcantara stuff.

Looks ok. Nice to know it doesn't look as good as the digital photos on Mazda's website. VR all the way =)

 

CARFAX doesn't recognize that VIN number, weird .. the car looks real nice, and so do your photos with that phone

Speaking of keys, I saw a flip key already cut in perfection condition with instructions (2005 version) go for $20 shipped on eBay.

4 colors on the Shinka. Isn't that the Japanese version? I thought they were only doing the Copper Red Shinka for the US.

 

When I went down to the Mazda dealer to look at a replacement Mazda3 I asked about the '06 model year. The dealer told me they had 2006 model years in and that there were no changes. They had them on the back lot because they were still doing construction and only had like 10 cars total on their front lot. I don't know if we were talking about the same thing though, I don't necessarily trust things they tell me at the dealers.

I think the copper red looks really good, although I'm a little unsure of the sand interior. I'm going to the show this Saturday and will get some pics.

 

Why are they listing it as an 07 when the VIN shows it to be an 06?

I saw the car yesterday, and in person the color is stunning. I wish I would have waited. The color is perfect.

 

Just went to the North American International Auto Show here in Detroit. They had an 06 Shinka there. I would have taken pics, but forgot it at home.
