What is FI?...Don't bash me cus i'm just a beginner hahaha. Yeah i've read about the electric assisted turbo...but how does that **** work?

And one last thing...please think about Nissan and Toyota since Mazda is in competition with them....It has been said for a long while that the next gen both Nissan Skyline and Toyota Supra would twin turbo charge their engines....So why wouldn't Mazda? But then again....**** i'm getting mahself mixed up...cus Nissan said they would SS their Silvias...the S16, and N/A for the Supra...think it's gon be a V12?...anyways..just want peeps to think about Mazda's competition with other companies cus that may help a bit on solving the rumors.

Either way, Mazda's the best!

FI means "Force Induction"

Well, I think Mazda is working on a SuperCharged 8 than Turbo, because of all the problems Turbo have.

SuperCharger should be able to give the 8 maybe 25+ wrhp, and without all the ridicuious problems with a Turbo(or Twin) setup.

Supercharger can give 8 a much better Toruqe as well.

Dont forget, our 8 already have wonderful handling, It just need a little more power and it will be perfect.

Yeah turbos has come a long way. look at the "Disco Potato" turbo is pretty much lag free but I think the problem with the 8 is actual space. Greddy kit put their almost under the motor, and that's is a small turbo. The other kits out there puts them in front of the motor.

MadEoINoTaiwaN, the only reason the new Skyline GTR will be twin turbo is because it is easier to make a V-6 twin turbo.

Nah, it's been said that Nissan is going towards more with the V-8TT rather than the V-6TT...for example...if Nissan chose a V-6TT...why didn't TOP SECRET have the V-6TT in the V35 it has..right? Can you tell me what a disco patatoe turbo is?...haha.
thanks

Yeah...true...the turbos are mounted in front...Just like the Pheonix's Power SE.

Warning: do not buy JDM Insider 3...a disappointment...but at least it's where i saw the SE.

My point was that "V" engines is better to twin turbo than a single. From what I have read the next GT-R is going to be a 3.3 liter V-6 TT from the prototype stuff that I got from a Option Magazine I got while deployed over to Japan earlier this year.

The disco potato turbo is pretty much a GT28RS turbo.

TwitchFD, I just got rid of my FD. I just got tired of dumping money in her. In one year I put over $12k (between mods and maintenance) in that car and it had the stock turbo and fuel system. That was going to be another 6k down the road.

Actually, twin turbos allow you the opportunity for qucker spool. I actually have setup a Mustang with a smaller turbo, which is at full boost pretty much around 1500, and a second larger turbo to allow for HP expansion throughout the RPM band.

sorry if some of you didn't get what i was saying earlier...i put "it" instead of TOP SECRET...i don't know how i did it but..hahaha...but yeah...was meant to talk about the TOP SECRET CV35 having the VK45DETT instead of a VQ35DETT...cus it was Smoky's goal to have the clostest and newest GT-R there is for now..and from the rumor he's heard "IN" japan is gon be a V-8 TT. but i don't know.....hahaha.

well one thing i've learned is that RX-8's do loose alot of disadvantages from turbos but hardly any from SS cus of the exhaust port....so....either way...SS or Turbo'd....it's still a rotary.

I figured it was a bunch of crap... but figured you guys would know better than anyone outside of Mazda's secret lab.

I don't post here much... and Mugato, you're more of a ******** than I remember.

Well, it's interesting to see what u guys heard, but from what I've heard from Alhambra Mazda Dealership, Manager said he was leasing RX-8 04 for now, until in 07 or end of 06. He said then, "RX-8 will have either turbo, or something... supercharger or something" i forgot that part. I'm 100% sure of him saying either Turbo or ..!! He said his waiting for them to come, then he will buy it and not lease it. I think some changes will happen soon!!

Mazda engineers said that turbocharging a renesis wasn't possible due to the side port configuration, then I read that an electric turbo was under development. Can someone please clarify....thanks.

If it's not possible, then how do you explain the aftermarket kits people have already installed, tuned, raced, etc?

I heard from a Mazda sales rep (and we know they're usually last to know anything) that the '07 would be supercharged.

So, anyone heard anything more definitive either way?
Dont believe anything you hear, unless its from the CEO.

The accusations arn't true in all situations though.

Look at Porsche and their 911 Turbo.

My question is-how the hell will supercharging or even TT'ing the Renesis produce 400 HP. I could be wrong but that's just flat out goofy. I think they're going to need to add a third rotor to get that kind of HP.

For those more knowledgeable on the subject wouldn't FI only bring 40-60 HP more at the most??
I salivate at the thought of FI and closer to 300 HP!!

You need to look at FD'sand FC turbo. FD's with 13B can make over 500 whp in street trim.

I have yet to see a single turbo that spools as fast as the FD stock twins with the same high end power potential...
