2008 or Wait?
Ok, I have been trying to work this out. I will be graduating college soon and I would like to buy a new 8. Here is what I have been thinking about:
I could a) Buy an 8 upon graduation and begin working on it.
Pros: I have the car upon graduation/dont have to wait, it is not a first generation
Cons: Maybe missing out on the new rx8
b) Wait a couple years and be without a car and buy the new 2010 rx8 Possible FI which is good cause I wouldnt have to void my warrenty
I don't know what to do and any suggestions would be great...
Also, if i do decide to buy one soon instead of waiting, if mazda releases an rx8 with a turbo or supercharger would i be able to possibly purchase this separately and have mazda install it so that it would not void my warrenty

Anywho, if you can be financially comfortable then you could go for it. If you're moving away from home for a job or something after graduation I'd say wait a few months to see what all your new expenses will be.

what about if mazda releases a turbo/supercharger for the 2010? would i be able to purchase it and install it without voiding the warrenty? is there any chance this would be possible? this is the one thing that is actually causing me to ponder waiting till 2010...but if i can do purchase it separately then im all good

Mazda isn't going to make FI for a rotary car, don't worry about it. Just get your own turbo, there's going to be a bunch of kits out by the end of the year. And the looks of the car should look relatively modern for a long time to come.

trust raptor2k, chance of mazdaspeed rx8 and/or FI is next to nil. The FI rumors are several years old, if it was going to happen, it would have happned already. buy one now and enjoy it. Just make sure you can afford it, I just graduated college in May and know too many people that ruined their financial future buying a car they cant realistically afford.
good luck!
good luck!
