2009 RX-8 review
Here's a comprehensive review on the 2009 Mazda RX-8, featuring lots of info, from design and performance, to history and competition of the RX-8. Also available is a photo gallery with the sports car.
"After almost eight years of production, the highly successful Mazda RX-8 will be reinvented in a completely new model. The original 2+2 doors coupe is expected to come with an all-new skin and refreshed “Zoom-Zoom” design in 2009. The dynamics are guaranteed to be better than ever for an RX model, featuring the latest generation of Mazda’s exotic Wankel rotary engine...."

I think it looks pretty sharp. Mazda wants to change the grill to that one and it looks good. It still looks like an rx8, the large wheel arches and such. 300hp would be very nice. I don't like the center exhaust I hope they don't go with that. Overall i think it seems like a good refresh especially with the 300hp.

"Our artist has prepared a few illustrations that show you were the RX-8 design is headed to. "
First off, it's what their artist thinks it will look like.
Second, if this was real, I think they would have better proof-readers. I think they wanted to use "where" instead of "were". Unless they were targeting Chingy's fan base...

you are as dumb as the article writers. Look at my comment at the bottom, it should be the most recent one. That isnt their artists sketch, it is Franz's sketch from 05, the signature hasnt even been photoshopped out of it.
Arf. You people need to pay more attention.

The original RX-8 was launched in 2001 and was intended as a successor for the RX-7. The later was previously produced in not less than three distinct generations and was a high performance 2+2 seats coupe. The most exclusive component used for the RX-7 was it’s unique (Mazda is the only current Wankel engine producer) rotary engine, that made the car light and fast. After sales for the RX-7 dropped in the late ‘90s, Mazda decided to revive their performance coupe and dropped the RX-7 denomination in favor of the “RX-8” tag.
I'm also thinking (like the rest of you) that except for the one sketch by Franz von Holzhausen that shows basically nothing, they're Kabura sketches tweaked by someone.
Our artist has prepared a few illustrations that show you were the RX-8 design is headed to. The evolved design of the 2009 Mazda RX-8 will resemble to a fuselage with a powerful stance, pronounced wheel arches and taut surfaces. Every line will flow into another with no open ends, in the “Zoom-Zoom” manner currently common to all Mazda models. Surfaces will be drawn tight over the wheel arches, the way a spider’s web stretches between anchor points

*sigh* I'm so out of it- it's not on the kabura concept on Mazdausa, so I think it doesn't exist...I can't keep up with all this information!
