Elaborating on concept of Hybrid on demand only

Ok so my question is to you. I am happy with a hybrid that only has a 50 mile electric limit. I am willing to cut corners on battery size. What I essentially foresee happening here is a sort of 'electric boost' on demand, similar to say nitrous. Not something you use at every stoplight. Rather when the mustang rolls up next to you. If I can get 30 minutes of high performance combined driving per day, that would be fabulous!!! Do I need this crazy level of torque all the time? No. Simply providing some level of electrical support including ability to go all electric while the rotary is warming up, I see this as something that I plugin overnight and I get 30-60 minutes of superformance, or < 2 hours ev performance. I can program a custom module to ramp up values based upon a nitrous style pushbutton where the more you push the more you get out, but you can't realistically get hours of EV alone driving... Thats not the point. I don't want to save a lot of gas. I want my rx-8 to have a turbo electric button that gives me a much more cost-effective and energy efficient alternative to turboing the already high compression renesis. People are spending 10-20k just to turbo a renesis and cant even get full boost at full rpm., so this is more of a matter of overcoming shortcomings of the engine.

I am ok with all of that. Given my limited goal of a super torque boost early on(I can conceive of programming like a torque curve based upon engine speed so that as soon as the rotary ICE is fully warm, the electric ramps down on standby, and by that point you sadly only have '1 hour of 516ft/lb torque super boost power available' oh darn... Am I the only rx-8 enthusiast who can say Yes I can see adding 1/2 the possible weight increase and only having my electric for 20 mile trips, then needing a dull day charge, then being able to put out 500+ ft/lbs of torque on demand, that this 3-7k adventure is more cost effective than trying to turbo an already stretched renesis engine!

No one wants to drive WOT all the time(unless their crazy). So This weight 'problems' all becomes a matter of what sacrifices will I make. If I can KEEP 50:50 weight distribution by choosing smaller batteries I will in order to make this work best for my concept. Sure if you want miles and miles of range you need +700 lbs of unbalanced crap.

But if you want an ice motor with a warmup electric assist mode that puts out the torque for the renesis while it warms up and then turns into a 'turbo switch' kind of situation that can only be used 30 minutes a day to provide 400 average ft/lb torque, I am totally cool with that tradeoff. Everyone I have seen criticizing my idea seems to think I am expecting to get the full functionality of a hybrid vehicle is missing my point. I will take a few runs with 500ft/lb torque with a smaller battery rather than try to drive hours on end electric. I hope this makes sense.

I was under the influence slightly please give grace for grammar/spelling
