22.8 mpg
couldn't find the MPG thread so I figured I'd post my great mpg.
I was coming home from a weekend in Vermont.
I got 22.8 MGP with 95% highway
-just me in the car and a small suitcase in the trunk
-driving @ about 70-72 in 6th gear with a few peaks @ 78-80 mph
-new airfilter
-AC running on lowest setting (1), windows closed
-93 octane shell and exxon in the tank
-topped off my oil with 1/2 quart of Castrol GTX 5/20
I was pleasantly surprised by the number because my previous highway trips had me at about 20 mpg.
23 mpg is what i used to average in the city on my mazda3 2.3 hatch.
unfortunately, it's back to 17 mpg for my commute to work

Not bad....oh and btw weather the Ac is on 1 or high (fan speed) the compressor is still engaged cause a SMALL amount of power to drop your mpg numbers....so no difference weather the fan speed is low or high....compressor is engages...
but not bad numbers either way

not too shabby, grats on the good fuel mileage.
I think my high is somewhere in that range although these days I usually have a passenger for my long road trips and a full trunk so I only get 20-21 if I'm easy on the throttle.

yeah^ I try to keep it under 3750 rpms but it's hard to .....comin back form Tennessee a couple weekends back I did 85-95 the whole way home and still got 20 so I was somewhat happy with that!

On my long all highway trips I can sometimes squeeze out 26+. My best best 27.1...
I don't think I do anything special, I guess I have just found the sweet spot where it leans it out just enough, ya know? On long trips I shift before 3500, and keep it under 3800 while cruising...that works to somewhere near 70mph. I premix most fill ups, and try not play around with speed too much while driving.

Driving home from Ohio this past weekend I averaged 22mpg. Had just done an oil change with Castrol GTX 530. Was mostly highway but did see alot of sitting in traffic. AC was on full blast the whole time.
Around city im averaging 15. It was nice to finally see 22
