NO!!!!!
This is under the new regs, with SAE inspectors certifying the procedure/dyno/results on a rand engine(s). What it got it what it got - END OF STORY

The ATs are the big winner here and they go from 197 old HP to 212 new HP. The change in rating system means that the jump is even more than the apparent 15 HP. The 2006 ATs should rock ... assuming you are in to that kind of thing.

lol...riiiiiiiiight. Seems more likely Mazda just applied a new set of correction values against their current numbers. Cheaper.

Both horsepower figures are SAE J1349 Certified Power, which is a new method of rating vehicle power for 2006. The SAE J1349 is an automotive standard written by the Society of Automotive Engineers to provide manufacturers with a method of certifying the power of engines.

From what I understand the AT got some of its significant power bump due to the change in transmission choices.
The old AT were handicapped because they could not take full advantage of the RPM range of the Renesis.

The power was not reduced, it was only measured a different (more accurate) way.
