2nd gear hard to into from 1st (also no loaner and no gas)
I just picked up my 6 speed in NY on frida(y and went to the Jersey Shore- Cape May), and on Saturday, I noticed 2nd gear was hard to get into from 1st (but no problem when rolling in N to 2nd) I really had to pull hard into 2nd! AFter turning the car off and driving again, it seemed fine, only to return intermintantly.
ANy others have this issue?
Is it just a simple adjustment? Is it the clutch?
Also my dealer told me to bring it in, but there would be no loaner car for me since it's just a 1 day adjustment. Only loaner cars are given when waiting for parts, for a few day fix, etc.
This doesn't seem right. What are other deealers doing?
Also my car came with the tank on E. I thought it would be full and didn't realize till I thought I was close to running out. Upon calling them about this The dealer said we have no facilities for filling up. I guess I get lesser service since I got a grand off.
I will end up bringing it to the Ford owned service here in Manhattan, once they have finsihed thier reconstruction of their building.
I am happy about the $500 plus service- I jumped on getting the car ASAP since I figured this would happen- and I bet the HP can be re mapped.

Make the dealer fill your car up! The Mazda literature says it comes with a comp tank of gas. Very few dealers actually have a gas pump -- my dealer escorted me to the gas station and paid at the pump -- said hasta la vista and off I went!

yes, you're supposed to get a complimentary fill up on your gas...
but your problem with going into 2nd is nothing i've ever experienced...every shift is smooth - not nothy, not loose, perfect...you definitely should take that in...
how far are you depressing the clutch in, btw? and is this only in 2nd that you're having problems with?
EDIT: also, i'm not sure if it's dealer specific, but ANYTIME i take my car in and it needs to be there for a whole day or so, i am given a loaner...it's part of the warranty, i believe

Have 'em write you a check for a tankful of premium if they make excuses. OR threaten them with giving them a ****-ppor rating on the MNAO survey that you'll be getting. Decent dealerships are terrified of getting bad marks on the survey.

A. the window sticker says complimentary full tank of gas. get yours!
2. someone else posted a problem with their transmission similar to yours. the started having trouble going into a certain gear than it escalated. the bolts that held the clutch( i think it was) in place had backed out and Mazda replaced the whole clutch for them. i'll search and see if i can find the correct thread.
here it is undertorqued pressure plate bolts backed out off the flywheel!
