3 month review, observations
Thought I'd share...crossed the 3-month threshold, and reached 3000 miles today.
First -- the usual stuff. Milage has been very consistent: 15.8-17 in mostly city, up to about 22 on the highway. 93 octane, no L or M yet (did the brake test). In 300 miles, it's used exactly one quart of oil.
Likes:
- solid road feel, combined with power on demand
- baby fits well in the back (just moved her from a bucket to a convertible seat -- both fit fine. It's kinda fun watching the moms at Babies R Us as I pull the munckin out of the back)
- amazing handling
- even better brakes
- DSC threshold seems perfect -- enough to let you know you exceeded the limit; not enough to get you in trouble.
- looks, especially front and side views. Silver, with no add-ons save the rotary accents really looks like a shark to me, right down to the gills.
- interior very different -- reinforces that this is something special.
- build quality -- total issues so far...zero. none.
- my dad thought it was a 50k car when I picked him up at the airport
- people asking me how many cylinders it has...
Dislikes
- very dusty front brakes...but, if that's the price you pay, then fine
- I sometimes wish the GT had enough headroom for me to fit (I have a touring)...but then I get over it
- still don't always get into reverse first time around
- red-line buzzer is too quiet -- it should be wired to the stereo and louder when you have music on
- still not crazy about rear styling
- often cruise in 4th because it's very fast to accelerate and I don't realize that it's not in 6th.
...overall, very happy with the purchase and the decision.

good review.
One question..you say you wish the gt had enough headroom for you, im guessing you mean with a sunroof.
How tall are you??
i havent gotten an 8 yet, i kinda want to wait for white. Im worried i wont fit with a helmet when sloshing around on a track. i barely do when siting still.
i dont know if you have any experience with it, but its worth a shot.

I'm 6'4.
Touring has the sunroof. coming from a Miata, I had to get some way to see the sky.
I found that the leather seats in the GT took away about 1.5 inches of headroom versus the cloth seats in the Touring. Others on the board have suggested that it's because of the motors for the power seat in the GT.
I test drove a GT and thought -- nice car, too bad I don't fit.
2 months later I test drive a touring. Beat the snot out of it. Went back to the lot and bought a different touring with 4 miles on the clock.
Best bet: go sit in a GT and a touring. If you carry a lot of your height in your torso, you'll notice the difference. FWIW...I don't have the seat all the way back; plenty of legroom in this thing.

Miata was a 97, because I didn't fit in the M2s.
After about a year, I scooped out some of the seat foam. That way, could hold my head straight with the top up. I fit, but there wasn't a whole lot of extra space...
