3 rotor engine
Ive been looking all over the forum.. and I cant seem to find it..
Not too long ago, someone posted a picture of a member's RX8 that had this 75,000 dollar 3 rotor engine in it.
Anyone have a link to the picture?

Here is a link to a video of a 3-Rotor Toyota AE86 Corolla. Worth checking out, not the best resolution though. Check out the acceleration!

Pettit Racing (http://www.pettitracing.com) has been building turboed 20Bs for 3rd gen RX-7s for years. Called them Banzais. 500 to 700Hp.
If I remember correctly, $26,000 out the door (you supply the car). Required repackaging just about everything under the hood, but they did a nice, clean job.

Alamo Rotary does 20B swaps as well, for I think somewhere in the neighborhood of $30,000+. It's insane how companies have the ability to manipulate these prices. Of course, a 20B is a very expensive engine.
I respect ACOSTARACING's decision to dump $75,000 into his car. It shows there are more insane options available for the RX-8. Now, if someone can successfully build a solid RENESIS with no complaints, I would totally stop post whoring.

$2-$5k for might be the cost of a used engine which has either been blown up or been involved in a wreck. Otherwise, that would only cover the cost of a new or remanufactured short block - everything within and including the housings. Either way, this does not necessarily include the turbocharger assembly, coils, intercooler, plumbing, sensors, wiring, starter, alternator, pulleys, mounts, throttle assembly, etc.etc.etc. Add all these parts new and it might easily get into the five digit range.
