308 Miles On My Last Tank

Seeing as though I'm a wimp and all, whenever that orange light says hi I usually go to the nearest station. any idea on how long it really takes before you REALLY get empty?
I'd rather not get stuck on the side of the road testing this, lest I'd be abused by the wifey ;p

About 30-35 miles of city driving, and 40-50 on the highway, I believe.
I can't believe that some people here are actually only getting 120-160 miles per tank, short drive to work or not.

301 here...drive 50 miles to work one way and back.Usually drive 75 mph-80mph......20 mpg is the best so far with my car only having 955 miles on her. I am hoping it will go up a little after break in......

i went to TN and back from florida last week, on one tank, I got 270 something miles to 1/4 tank, 11.016 ( 24.5 mpg ) gallon fill. ( to georgia ) and then from there to columbia SC, I got 307 miles to gaslight, 13.52 gallons.. ( 22.7 mpg ).. those were my trip best, as the return trip back i stayed near 20 mpg as I kept it over 100 mph for about 1/3 of the trip, and averaged 80+ mph...
on trips I usually fill till it overflows and spray out so it was FULL.... that's as close to accurate mileage as I can get.

Work is about 1 mile from my home too.. I get GREAT gas mileage...
Ever since I started commuting to work by bike
At 1mile you'll get there in about the same (or less time) and wouldn't have time to build up a sweat yet!

got 24.5 mpg when i drove my 8 from Atlanta to Boston with the A/C on the whole time. Seeing the orange light at 140 miles??? Are you driving in the first 3 gears...thats beyond aweful gas mileage and clearly isnt normal if you are driving the car anywhere but redline.

He's in delaware, driving 1 mile.. then shutting off. He probably lets it warm up for a few minutes before he leaves in the morning, etc.. you get horrible mileage for short trips..
When I drove to work I would get about 150 at 1/4 tank.

its called cold weather, i have a remote start that runs for 12 minutes then shuts off. so short trips, lousy winter fuel, and loving the sound of the aem every once in a while adds up to lousy fuel economy

I got 310 miles out of a tank once, and the light hadn't even come on yet! But we were in Canada, and it wa snowing, so we gave in and filled it up so we didn't strand ourselves somewhere.
