I saw my "low fuel" light for the first time 2 days ago. Filled up the tank within 10 miles from there and had 262.8 miles.
330??!! wow!!
oh, and Raptor is right: Need pics!!

Before EFI cars got worse milage at altitude as there was no adjustment for the thin air, so the engine ran poorly. But now with EFI it is a new game.
A few years back I was in south east Oregon and northern Nevada at high altitude and running 80~90 with my wife's Dodge Intrepid (3.2L engine) (full size car) and actually got just under 30 mpg!

Never Taking RX-8 On a Trip again
I went from Phoenix AZ to Fairfield Ca had to fill up almost 5 times i was going a good 85 to 91 even 100 i was getting about 250 miles per tank even my dads Mark LT gets better. Dont get me wrong i love my car in all but when i go put gas in my tank and top it ,which is down the street and nt even a mile from my house my tank isnt top off any more Which sucks

Your comments reveal that you bought the wrong car. What did you think you were getting? An economy car perhaps? And traveling at those speeds? Sheeeeesh!
Do the calculations (you know, miles travelled divided by gallons of fuel used) and you will see that the actual MPG you are getting is within the range of EPA estimates.

How many gallons does your dad's LT take. My Tahoe goes 400 miles on a tank, but it only gets 14 MPG. Your logic is screwy.

My mom's Tribute does somewhere around there too but her tank holds a few more gallons than mine. We get the same approximate mileage though, so it's not like it really matters. Bella just needs to eat more often than Scottie. LOL

We have about a 15 gallon tank keep that in mind. Now if we had a 20 gallon tank and got those numbers then yeah alot of us would be kinda peeved.

its very easy to get over 300 miles for one tank on the highway. as another recent thread points out. 24 mpg is easy up to about 27 mpg is doable.
personally i find the car to be very good for long trips. its much more comfortable than my wifes outback wagon for instance.
hmm. i think ill merge this with that other newish mileage thread
