Maybe I just have missed it, but I have yet to see a single picture with 4 people sitting in the RX-8. I would think that might be a picture Mazda would be anxious to include to show how 4 real adults can comfortably sit in it. Anybody have any?

 

I'm going to the Melbourne Motor Show in March, I'm almost positive the RX-8 will be there and I'll try and help you out if I can.

 

Check the Media section. I don't remember the thread name but there is video of a Japanese comercial for the RX-8 that shows 4 people riding in it.

 

Well, here's a pic of two people sitting comfortably in the 8. Just multiply by two. Guy in the back was about 6'2". Ignore the pink eared idiot in the front seat...

 

Question is though, how tall is the front driver ?

 

Excellent question, given that the back seat leg room dissappears really fast when the front seat comes back. Driver almost 6'...ok, I'm only 5'11"... and I had the seat at comfortable driving position (that was good luck, though, 'cause power was off the car, so no adjustment was possible).

Some of you may have seen it but the Mazda Japan site has a simulation of how different sized people would look in the rx-8.

You can choose heights from 150cm to 180cm for the front and back passengers. This is roughly corresponds to about 4'11" to 5'11". This probably covers 90% of the Japanese population yes?

 

The guy in the front seat looks like he's from the Toronto area...

Its the pink ears that give it away :D

 

Too bad you can't select by weight also. Those guys are pretty skinny and I'm sure all of us and our family and friends aren't :-)

 

lol. They're skinny, but man do they have big feet! And alien shaped heads...

 

Maybe they are wearing helmets for AutoX. That or they are "ancient astronauts". I hear they found cave paintings in France clearly showing RX-8s being distributed by aliens to cave men to motivate them to advance. It has also been conclusively proven that crop circles are produced by advanced alien RX-8 skidpad tests.
