If a water pump makes you want to dump your car - better dump it and go with public transportation - that is the only way you can gaurantee you don't have a problem with your car!!!

I don't care too much about gas mileage. I just drive less when gas goes up. Otherwise I enjoy just knowing it's in the garage there for my enjoyment to look at or drive. I consider it a recreational vehicle made for fun and handling. It's more practicle than a motorcycle and almost as much fun to drive. Water pumps may be less reliable in cars with small high temperature engines like the rotary. Honda motorcycles have problems with waterpump failures. Small engines throw alot of heat. That may be the reason.
I've always steered clear of VW and Audi. They have had a bad rep since the early 80's for electical problems. I would consider a Passat if not for that reason. They can be very high maintenance. After 3 years my 04 rx8 has caused me no problems so far. The numerous TSB and recalls are a nuisance. Oherwise the car satisfies completely. I like it most of all cars I've owned or test drove.

It's hilarious that you are making a huge deal about something as simple as a water pump.

Whats wrong with that? The Corvette's engine is incredible.QUOTE;
So is the price difference. It actually makes better gas mileage than alot of cars at 70 mph in cruise. It's still a gas pig if you thrash it and use some of that HP.
