50,000 Odometer Miles Club
Just turned 49.660, so am thinking about the last, pre-50k miles maintenance for this week. Have had most applicable TSB's applied and am extremely happy with this car. No major problems! Any suggestions would be appreciated.
For those reaching this milestone, I'll try to edit your info into this post. I tried searching for one, so if there already is an equivalent thread, please post a link to it.
VIN, model, transmission
Purchase date (only original owners, since 2nd owners can't really "know" the car)
Date turned 50K
Average MPG
Major problems (not due to accidents, misuse, etc.)
Here's to the 100K Club!
Btw, my forum handle belies my MPG expectations for the Renesis. Actually, I really don't think that any of us can complain, when we're given a car with almost 100 more HP at the cost of only 1-2 MPG, when compared to the previous best NA 148 HP numbers. Some claim to be getting up to 5 MPG better than previous NA rotarys!
Here goes the list:
................................................. .. Avg. ................. ..Major
..........ID.......... .Bought.. ....50K.... MPG .Description. Problem
XUrotaryrocket. 08/06/03 12/??/04 21.0 04 MT . . . Front brk rotors

MPG > HP, Congratulations... I think! Sorry so many miles but it is great to here the car is holding up so well. I think these cars are going to handle the 150K -200K easily. Guess we will see. It's fun being on the bleeding edge, eh? Now I think we also need to start another thread for most abused and we will use "Charles R. Hill" for the poster child on that one. That dude knows how to get everything out of an 8 that is possible. I really do want to see him join the 100K Club.
zoom44 mentioned to me one time that it might not be a good idea to post VIN numbers. Just a suggestion you may want to think about.

Per Request !!!
Current mileage: 63,496
Turned 50,000 miles..... i'm gonna guesstimate December 2004. I'll check my service records to verify.
No major problems.
Only nagging issue is the tendency to eat up front brake rotors. All issues were covered under warranty or via good faith replacements. My service techs kick ***.
Only modifications include K&N filter replacement and Racing Beat catback.
Avg mileage is 20-22 mpg.
Purchase date 8-6-03

Btw, any special treats for your 8's at the 50K mark? I ended up spending $1000+ on the full "60k" maintenance, including cleaning the a/c evaporator and injectors. No apparent improvements, though, which I take to mean the car was good to go even before the work was done. The plugs look like they could go another 10-15k. Oil consumption is about 1qt/2000 miles (haven't been measuring this, until now). Had the wheel alignment checked, due to the new Neova's, with no adjustments required.

update
approx. 74k miles on the ODO as of today (11-2-05)
Had the two recent recalls done. Still no problems.
On my 4th set of tires including the Blizzaks that are still good for another season or two.

I would imagine that those of you with 50k miles on your car would be mostly highway commuting miles therefore your avg mpg would be higher...
in 5 months of ownership my avg mpg is about 16.6mpg.
grrr.
