6k rpm rev limit?
I have noticed on certain days if i give my car anywhere under 10 minutes to start up in the cold weather I will go and seems the engine is running tight.
Today It was warm considering the time of year about 48 i think when i sat in my car to start it. I gave it about a minute or so to start up since it was pretty warm out. I go to pull out of my street and at 6k rpm my car was bogging and a rev limiter had kicked in. I have an 2004 manual. I know in the cold you should not run the car that high. But today I just pulled out and needed that about 7k.
Normal problem??

It's generally a better idea to keep it below 6000 when it's cold - if you are getting into traffic situations where you NEED that extra power right after starting up in the morning, you're driving too aggressively.
Let your baby warm up before you push her to the top.

stop raping your engine. That's exactly what you're doing to it, and the computer is *trying* to stop you. BMW also does this.
It takes 5 to 10 minutes to properly hot up a car for bangin' it good.
Just because the needle (which is a little lying tramp anyway) reads "normal" doesn't mean all is to temp. First water, then oil -- in that order. Oil's the last one to come up, and that's why we rue the lack of a real oil pressure gauge. It *tells* you when she's ready for the spurs.

Huh, i wonder what most people keep their revs below before having a fully warmed up engine? I remember seeing someone's post before saying 3k too, but it getting on my nerves the lack of power :-(. More worried about engine life though.

new model trick even thu you both have 04's. Maybe a new flash or something thu, i have an 04 and dont feel like testing out if my rev limter cuts in early when cold.
