7Stock Roundup
I've been looking for the news from sevenstock but am only finding great pics of cars attending, rain in CA, plus individual subject threads like the super news from Hymee here https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-major-horsepower-upgrades-93/hymee-gets-supercharged-part-2-a-36376/page46/ that looks to be the next big thing under an RX-2 (maybe Rx-8 later) hood. You goota love shiny metal that can do 14psi on a rotary!
But where's all the news otherwise? perhaps some that know can post?
There was the hype on Renesis2 (1.5/1.6/2.0L) and a future combined-concept 2 door 2 seater-maybe? Didn't anyone get anything from anyone in a back alley or over drinks?
Did MNAO have anything to say (good)? The event was in their backyard parking lot, yes?
What about the 'new model RX-8" supposedly coming next year? Sheetmetal and a 1.5L?
Comon spill the beans - you know you want too...

Bump - wow - now I'm getting really depressed...so exactly no news from SSX?... at all?? I might just as well go slit my oil lines with a razor blade then I guess - there evidently no love from the rotary gods right now

I have seen all the pics but have not heard any real news at all. I did just read a new post by RotaryGod saying to expect news of the 1.55 litre rotary next month. He sounded pretty sure of himself like he always does.

You're not looking hard enough. There's talk of a new 1.55 liter rotary (16C) and rumors of a blue rotary-powered Kabura.

It's coming. New 2 door rotary sports coupe powered by a 1.55L engine. Watch Tokyo next month. The rotarynews scoop from last week is not a rumor! We can't really give you tidbits other than that as the news comes from personal conversations.
What only a few people saw out there was the impressive number of rotary engineers from Japan at the design center who were NOT here for sevenstock.

Alright, here's scoop.
1) MNAO has never really broken ANY big news at SevenStock Events. (not 'officially' at least)
- 2 years ago, they had one of the FIRST 6 port A/T's hidden on the lot and a few of us spotted it. No official mention was made at the event.
2) With the Tokyo auto show around the corner, Mazda didn't want to spoil the surprises at SS X. Think about it: Tokyo Auto Show is scheduled to debut 37 new cars in Mazda's REAL backyard...why let the cat out of the bag at SS X in front of just a few thousand people?
3) Kabura being at a Rotary Event definitely raises some questions. Again, no "official" explanation given but Franz (lead designer) did say that if we wanted a Rotary in it, to let Jim O'Sullivan know.
4) Mazda had the head of the Rotary division on hand who did say a few key things:
- "The Rotary is Forever!"
- "Here's to another 40 years of Rotary Engines"
It doesn't get much more concrete then that; the Rotary WILL live on and we WILL be seeing more of them in the future.
