8 in the body shop... problems

So I'm now officially going through withdrawals. Some guy backed into me and I was supposed to have my car back tomorrow but apparently there was more damage than expected.

Got a call on Wednesday saying they had trouble starting the car and that there was a milky substance on the dipstick (of course we all know that's normal in the cold) but they thought there was coolant getting in the oil

Get another awesome call today saying that they need a whole new headlight assemly and radiator supports. They guys insurance company has been dragging their feet and just now approved the extra expenses... the body shop knew that these extra things would be needed from the first time they took the front bumper off last Monday. Ridiculous.

Now my car won't be ready until late next week. 2 weeks for a 5 mph fender bender... fml

I've been driving my sister's 08 Subaru Legacy with Hawaiian flower print seat covers that are impossible to get off and a 4 speed slush box since then. Its a nice car but the weather is getting nice here again and I don't have my 8 to enjoy it.

Why isn't the other guy's insurance company providing you with a rental car?

Even if you keep driving your sister's Subaru, you should make them provide one. The daily cost gives them an incentive to move things along.

Painting might take longer then expected too. I see your color is VR, which is not a very easy color to paint. My 8 is also VR and its been getting some paint chips repairs. The job was done on time until the service manager looked at the car and noticed a slight brown tint to the clear coat at a side angle. He said rear quarter that did not match the trunk. I looked at it and could not see the difference but he offered to fix it and debadge my trunk for free at the same time. I took him up on the offer and talked him into installing my mazdaspeed rear spoiler while he was at it.

Anyways, good luck and the most important thing is that when its done it should be right. Nothing worse then a half *** job.

I'm under 21 or 25 or whatever it is for rental cars... they did give us a rental car but my dad is driving it and my sister is driving his SRT-8 Cherokee since she only drives about 1.5 miles a day.

Tried that man... I really wanted it for the week but I drive 25-30 miles a day and it has been pretty nice having a car that gets 30mpg

That's their problem. Their guy put your car out of service, they need to take care of your transportation.

They can always provide a chauffeur.
