Smile The 8 Evokes Mustang Passions ?

Hi Everyone - - I'm new to the forum. Bought my 8 December 04 and love everything about it. No complaints, no problems other than a little moisture in the tail light lense cap. Have "lurked" on the forum for some time now and appreciate all the tips - - and passion of 8 owners in the club. An interesting thing happened on my way to work this morning. As I was parking my car, 2 guys in a Mustang drove by and started smoking the tires, stopped a few feet in front of me, and did several 360's in the lot before smoking away. I have to admit the 'stang sounded pretty good doing it too (must be a V-8 version) with much impressive smoke!

Anyway, I thought that was some reaction to a parked 8!

the Mustang guys thought they bought a car that would make up for their tiny penises but then they found out hot chicks don't get into a white trashmobile and so they have to show off

the squeeling sound you heard wasn't the tires that was a girl seeing their small penises

HAHAHA :D on a side note i've had similar reactions from a guy that has a 96 cobra in my old hometown (70 miles from where i live now i go there on the weekends and hang out with my friends) he follow me around if he sees me and tries to get me to race him i just look over at him and laugh, he gets all pissed off and speeds off i think its funny lol :D btw i didn't race him and i don't intend to either, street racing is just stupid and dangerous

I don't know about small, but the fact that each guy had more than one must have scared them.

I'm sure you are uncomfortably familiar with that sound to be able to identify it so clearly. Too bad you drew the "short straw" so to speak.

I hate threads like this.

Why can't you all enjoy the rx-8 without it having to be better than other cars or without stereotyping their drivers.

I was going to say more, but I think that sums it up.

I'm with dragula, why all the stereotyping? There are asshats driving every type of car, they do not just choose one. Are all rx-8 owners young male ricers that think their car is from F&F?

Shoot, it's not? Well, I guess it's time to return it for a Civic. :p

My intent was not to stereotype Mustang owners. It's a great car. I have not personnely owned a vehicle before that elicits such reaction from some people, and I got a kick out of it!

ewwww you shouldn't say 8 and mustang in the same sentence.

unless it's RX-8 >>>> Mustang

Does that mean the RX-8 is four buslengths behind the Mustang in a race?

Nah...just that it's a better car. I don't want to get into the mustang debate though, especially since you own one. :p

Only in a straight line! On a track it'd be more like RX-8>Mustang. :p

Actually Speed er has a 03-04 Cobra so he would still be well ahead of the RX-8 even on a road course. This debate can go on and on.

That depends on the Mustang. Remember, all 8's are pretty much alike. All Mustangs are not. :D

Before getting my 05 RX-8, I had a new 92 GT, then a new 2001 GT.
Both cars were great and I logged 166k on the 92, and 52k on the 01.
I get more looks in 1 day driving the 8 than I got in 12 years driving the GTs.
You have to love the attention this car commands !!

Then we'll start arguing about drivers and the posts go on and on. So, I like your car. I like my car. Let's get some lunch. :D

I like the 8 too. Otherwise I would not have encouraged my wife to buy one. Where are we going for lunch? :D
