8 opens up at 10K
I'm close to 10K miles on my 2004 RX-8 and I feel the engine is more eager to rev than earlier. I don't know if it's just my imagination but the car just feels smoother and faster. I noticed this about my car last week.
I don't know if it has anything to do with the software upgrade I got a thousand miles back along with the oil change.
I read a road test a while back where the author compared the 0-60 time when he first got the car with a few hundred miles on it with another 0-60 test after putting 10,000 miles on it and guess what... the times are lower at 10,000!
Have any of you guys felt that?

Ohhh boy, I can't wait...so far I've heard that:
10K, 20K, and 30K are magic numbers for the Renesis.
As far as for me, since I hit 5K my last 3 out of 4 fill up have given me 20+mpg in all city driving.
Well, the last one had about 40 miles of highway.

Ive got 9800 miles on the car now...it does feel smoother at idle and such, but I think a lot of that is due to my change to all syn fluids at 8k miles.
It wouldnt suprise me that the car runs better with more miles, everything tends to have a 'sweet spot' and cars are no different. you spend the first ____ miles running the car in and then your into that range where it runs its best, say 20k-80k, then after than things wear out and it starts to go down.....im just quoting random numbers here, but i think you get the idea.

getting close to 30k ? are you still on your stock plugs?
at 30k I would change plugs, plug wires, fuel filter, run a good injector cleaner thru the car, get an oil/filter change, change the fluid in the trany and diff, flush and refill the cooling system and reset the ecu, both NV and K ram (or whatever they are called) and change the air filter. That should help you get back to that new car feeling.
Thats if all those parts are factory, I follow a much closer change for those things, but if It were my car I would change any of the above that were factory every 30k.
