Now, if they would just send me the warranty extension information. I get the feeling that Mazda NA doesn't believe that I still own the car.

Hey, i've just purchased a brand new 2008 RX8 today but the dealership denied the 8 years 100,000 miles. He suggest that only the used certified RX8's have that warranty. So do all 2004-2008 rx8 models, used or new, have the warranty? Am I going to get a notification regarding the extended warranty soon? Thank you!!

Print out a copy of the attached notice and "present" it to your dealer. The incompetence of some dealership employees never ceases to amaze me. Sheeesh!

New free engine going in this week thanks to warranty extension, car mileage at 50,682. Awesome.
They wouldn't get me a loaner though, and I don't care, I'm getting a brand new engine!

you dont mention where you are, but if you are in the usa the loaner car should be provided. you should still be under the 5 yr 60 k extended power train warranty.

I live in Texas, and I just don't care about the loaner car as the 8 is not my only vehicle.

My place of employment is literally a 15 minute walk next to a golf course, downhill. I actually could use the extra exercise and the car will only be out for a week anyway, of which I have 2 days off. I will only walk to work twice more this week.

2 of my coworkers actually stopped and asked me if I wanted a ride the rest of the way, I told them I was fine.

Speaking of reimbursements, I just got an unsolicited check from my Dealer for the $47.70 they charged me for the MSP16 reflash. Under notes the check says, "REFUND FOR REPROGRAMMING PCM. COVERED BY MAZDA RECALL".

Now, what are the chances that I will get an apology from Zoom44 and Go48? I'd say zero.

I know, I know. I should never have caved to the shouts of the loud and ignorant. Still, it was freaking amazing to have gotten my money back without even having to ask for it . Unlike pretty much everybody else on this board, I really like my dealer. The service guy is really nice; always remembers my name, and they do a good job fixing my car when I take it in, which isn't too often because I do the bulk of the maintenance myself.

Invasion is waiting for reimbursement for previously made repairs. I am still waiting for the paperwork. I e-mailed MNAO to find out somewhere in the past 18 months they reverted to the address I had when I bought the car. I have no idea why, but they promised to resend the package to my new address. That was about two weeks ago. I don't think that I am getting it.

Good news: My new Engine is done.. Bad News: I need a clutch master cylinder

The story:
Took to one dealership for recall service bulletins.
Incompetent, performed 1 of 5 eligible bulletins, changed spark plugs to ( wrong type) new.
Took to 2nd dealership, who, over 2 visits and 2 weeks performed remaining bulletins, including vacuum and compression check, decarbonization.
They told me compression is down, need new engine.
After 3 weeks new engine is installed.
No loaner offered, and when I asked was told not included/available.

Interestingly found the first dealer did change plugs.
With the Wrong ones.

And, get this: They installed a leading plug in one of the trailing plug locations!

Now they tell me my clutch master cylinder is shot.

$500 estimate for the part..

Anyone got a part # for an RX-8 master cylinder?
