Gotcha..Thanx for the clarification. Am hoping that I can avoid a total rebuild/replacement and possibly get away with replacing coils/wires/plugs and cleaning out any carbon buildup, etc.
From what I've gathered, they had the car there less than 24hrs and already told my girlfriend that it was basically done and gonna run over $7k to replace. Mention of coolant in oil, misfire. Like I said, they are gonna have to prove to me that it's indeed done... compression test, etc. and not just a quick call made by running it and pulling the dipstick then telling my girl that because she's a woman ya know?! lol

And what about the warranty if i live in a country who dont have mazda dealership, as i imported my 8 from UK to Asia but here in my country there is no Mazda dealership. Is there any method to claim warranty in my case?

the dealership told me I had to because of the warrenty, I just talked to another dealership and they told me i didnt have too. Seems like the dealership I go to is screwing me over.

I thought this was the case, but have been told by two separate dealers and Mazda NA themselves that this extension does NOT apply to my 2010 RX-8. The best way to check is to call Mazda NA with the VIN and ask them to look it up.

The EXTENSION doesn't apply. But the 2009-2011 had the longer warranty from the factory, so an extension was not needed. Posted in your other thread:

The dealer is telling me the same thing, claiming that when they look up my VIN #, nothing about an engine core warranty shows up and that they checked with the warranty department. But MNAO customer service says I should have coverage and my warranty booklet clearly states that engine core is covered for 8yr/100,000 miles under the powertrain warranty.
EDIT: Dealer rep called me today and confirmed that my engine is covered under the warranty. For Series II RX-8s the SP77 warranty extension program does not apply, instead there is a separate engine core warranty. This warranty does not immediately show up if they search by VIN #, but I was told there's another way that they were able to look it up.

Dealership screwing you over?
Complaints about this specific dealership's technician aside, my car is fast approaching the 100K mark and the techs are refusing to do a compression test and saying I have bad spark plugs, core set, and ignition. They want to charge me $670 in parts and $330 in labor.

I've read on here how spark plugs on the older Series 1s can make a huge different in power, problems starting up, etc. I'm not sure of another dealership in North part of Houston Tx that can look at my car to run a compression test and honor the warranty.
Any suggestions on location? Any suggestions on a good place in Texas (San Antonio, Houston areas) that can properly check my car and honor the warranty?
SIDE NOTE/COMPLAINTS: Spent 4 months trying to go through corporate Mazda for them to finally recognize that ALL RX-8s have a 100K warranty even if my VIN doesn't show up at the loacl dealers as having it.... Local shop (only one in about 60 miles near me screwed me over several times:
1) They had all day by an appointment setup a week in advance to test spark plugs, etc. and find the problem and run a combustion test 3 or 4 months ago, plus change brake pads, and they did NOTHING...... from 8 am to 6:30 pm and NOTHING was done.... My only consolation is "the guy that said your rear brake pads were low was fired, so we can't even ask him.... he was doing them wrong...." I always change all pads at the same time, rear pads are slower to wear, it didn't add up initially anyways.
2) On 3 separate times went in to have them look at my "ruff" start, and it not always turning on with-in a year. Specifically checked the spark plugs, starter, ignition, etc and found NOTHING in 6 months. I'm quite sure I had just brought plugs and new battery from them about 5 months ago when it did it then.... NOTE: it wasn't "broken" 2 or 3 months ago, but now it is "in horrible shape, and we aren't going to do a combustion test" Took them only an hour to find that result, but all day to find nothing and suggest I do a engine flush for $200.......
3) After their test this week my stear feels off, as if they messed with the electronic steering the wheel.....
4) several other smaller things that I'm not going to list...... Ironic that another customer came in the same time i was leaving empty handed and given a $1,000 bill about a part that wasn't broken just 2 months ago saying there was no oil in her car, and she had brought it in for an oil change just last week.....
if you live near North Houston, avoid that place. Suggestions on were I can go? warranty is almost up.....

there is a whole set of things that a dealership is going to go through before getting to a compression test.... and they may even perform multiple TSB procedures after the initial compression test in an attempt to restore compression.
Your best bet is to simply ask for a compression test, no strings attached. It costs about $100 Be prepared to pay for if it passes.
If it fails then inquire about the warranty replacement and escalate to MNAO if necessary.

I could ask them to email me my records no problem. This new place only has records of some of my oil changes and that is it (to add to my complaints) of all the times I went in there, and ask for readouts of the work done, I've only ever got one tire alignment print out, and the one time they said my brakes were low. Quite sure that every Mazda dealership is suppose to do the full point inspection they brag about and check everything from fluids to tires and give a read out (my old one did, got many positive remarks for great service)

If you qualify for a replacement engine under the Mazda warranty, what you get is a reman (rebuilt) rotary engine from Mazda's rotary engine rebuilding facility in Virginia, not a new engine.
If you choose to get a rebuilt engine from one of the better rotary engine rebuilders across the US (check threads here for the ones that have a good rep, and to stay away from those who have a bad rep). The best of these will charge anywhere from $2000-$4000 depending if your engine core and any other parts are reusable and depending on what new parts are needed.
Since you have a Series II, you have some Mazda warranty left, so rely upon that for your car.

I live in the uk and have the high power 231bhp version 04 plate an my cat just went... Do I get the warranty on the 80,000 or 8yr garauntee. My dealership says the uk don't cover it. Thought I'd check. Thanks in advantance.

Sharing this for the benefit of the fellow 04-08 RX-8 owners, regarding SSP 77
I have a 2008 RX-8 that I purchased in Jan. 2016, to replace my previous 05 RX-8 that was totaled in an accident. Never had any major engine problems with the 05 that I owned for several years, but it always felt very under powered until high RPMs. The 2008 has purred like a kitten since I bought it and has excellent power. No problems with the car at all, except I had to replace 2 of the coils a few months ago. Drove it half a mile to the store the other day and it ran perfect as always. Walked out 5 mins later and the car would barely turn over and when it did, it ran like it was running on 2 or 3 cylinders, and didn't sound healthy at all. Had it towed to the local Mazda dealership, and after doing their full diagnostic, they said that the engine was toast, as was the catalytic converter. They said it would be around $9,000 to replace the engine and the catalytic converter, and that it would probably just be cheaper to look for another car. I was already aware that they had extended the warranty on the Cats, because I went through that with my 05, so I started looking online to find what the details of that warranty extension were, and to look for issues/extensions with the engine. Came across the SSP 77 info here on RX8 club. The dealer did NOT make any mention of any extended warranty on the engine or the Cat, and effectively told me I was screwed. Called the number on the document and they were very nice. Turns out my 08 hadn't been sold until Oct. 2008 thankfully (that's the date the matters, not the manufacture date), and I only have about 74K miles on it, well under the 100K, so they told me I qualified for both a new cat and the engine replacement. They then called the dealership and informed them.
I've been told it's going to take around 3 weeks, and obviously I need a car during that time, so I asked the dealership if they're going to provide a rental/loaner, and naturally they denied that as well. Called the number again on the document, and they approved a loaner car from Mazda and said I can stop by the dealership and pick it up this morning. No hassle with going through a 3rd party rental company and trying to get reimbursed.
That's where things stand right now, but I won't be surprised at all if I have more bad experiences with the dealership before this is all said and done. Same dealership flatly denied there was a special extended warranty on the Cat for my 05 when it failed 4 or 5 years ago, even though I had the document and showed it to them. Ended up having to take my 05 to a different dealership to get that covered under the warranty. They'll probably tell me I need to replace other, non-covered parts under the hood during this process. FYI Mazda USA didn't ask me to provide any records or anything, just proof of insurance to pick up the loaner. Very pleased with my experience dealing with them directly. Not at all happy with the dealership, as usual. Galpin Mazda in Valencia, California btw.

Glad you got help from Mazda. Unfortunately there are too many lousy Mazda dealerships and not enough decent ones. Luckily my local NJ Mazda dealership group , Maple Shade/Turnersville Mazda are good folks. No hassles when my engine tested borderline low compression with two weeks left on the eight years of warranty for my 2008 40th Anniversary Edition RX8. (My car had both the Mazda warranty and the dealer's own 8yr/100,000 service warranty covering me) . Replaced the engine and did the clutch also while the engine was out. They did a great job, no issues, runs great.

I do not understand this 8 years 100,000 miles guarantee on the engine. How it can cover a 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 under 100,000 miles since the years are already expired or is it me that do not understand it??
