Such a bad day at work, but to come home and read all this confirmation info it makes it all worth while. My buddy at work got his 8 last week and was overjoyed that the engine is now covered under warranty. I have decided that between the cars I have been looking at to replace my civic. Im sick of pulling up to a light and having ricers ask me "you think your whip's fast?" and laughing as their coffee can scrapes the ground as they attempt a burn out.
I will have my 8 this saturday!

i had to replace my motor mounts last week, does that count under this warranty?
i also had to pay for the stupid visor to get replaced.
in total it was around $500 for the two.....it would be nice if these are now under warranty and can be replaced.

Practically nothing is replaced under this extended warranty besides....the rotors.
Don't know why this is a big deal. An n/a rotary will go past 100k easy, anyway.

Actually the core consists of more than the rotors, it includes the housing. Also I think there are a lot of people that would disagree on the "100k easy", me being one that had his engine replaced at 58K. The other supportive parts such as throttle body, intake, coils, etc. come from your existing engine. At least that was the case with my core replacement.

The DVD that comes with this notice...is it the same one that came with the car? Or does it have new info?
This is pretty cool. Covers the one potential failure mode that's unique to the RX-8. FWIW, Zoomy is the first car I've owned that had a warranty longer than a year, so between the original 4/48, the powertrain 5/60 and this I feel like I've finally arrived in the welfare state.![Smilie](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)

This has apparently been confirmed for Canadian RX8's aswell... No hard proof other than what a member of the Ottawa Mazda club posted, saying he was in at one of the dealerships and seen the letter stating that the 2009's will have an 8yr/160k warranty, and that tne 2004-2008's will have the extended warranty aswell.
I'm going to call and attempt to confirm it myself tomorrow when they are open.

I believe it is also true that this warranty extends automatically if these parts are replaced...new ones are further warrantied. At least that is what has been explained to me each time (and there have been many) that parts, especially core, have had to be replaced on my 04. I have hit the 100,000 last week, shortly after another two night stay at the shop. I do not think there is anything I have not had replaced at this point. Mazda Corp stepped up for me prior to the 50,000 mark because my baby went to the shop too frequently and I complained too loudly. So, although I am over the specified warranty each replaced part has a new warranty of it's own.

Lets watch the used RX-8 value go up and up now. Buy a used one with less then 100K miles with a blown engine cheap and have Mazda replace the engine and make a few $$. You would have to research the Vin to make sure it would be covered.

damnit!!!! I was hoping to FI my 8 when the warranty ran out, now it'll last basically for as long as I can hope to own the car ![Smilie](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
this is great news, hell of a call by mazda, just goes to show how much faith they continue to have in their rotary engines and their commitment to keep developing them. after all they wouldn't have built that new remanufacturing plant if they didn't think they wouldn't be using it in 5 years time.
I want my friggin 16x please!
