If you look Allstate is in the bottom 3 of consumer happiness.
I took a quick look at the web site, and I don't know how they arrived at their ratings, but I have to disagree with their assessment of State Farm.

I have been with State Farm for nealy 50 years. We have our auto policies with them, our homeowners policy with them and a couple of other policies as well. I've had auto accidents, my wife has had auto accidents, and we've had damage to our home over that time period. All settlements with State Farm have been more than satisfactory and prompt, in one case writing a generous check on the spot after inspecting the damage to our home. And along with the check came a statement that if there were any additional expenses to let them know.

So, from my personal experience, I would rate State Farm as one of the best insurance company out there. I imagine others will disagree with that, but that's my 2 cents.

I'd have to agree with you go48 - we have our auto and homeowners with them and have no complaints. Heck when I got hail damage back in TX they appraised based on conventional methods as opposed to the paintless repairs most of the insurance companies out there do. 5 small dings = $1700, got it appraised and a check within 15 minutes. My kind of insurance company.

see i have never had a single problem with Farmers either. i wonder if they are basing their ratings on the amount of feed back from customers. i imagine you would get more people talking about the bad experience they had.

as of right now i have left 4 messages on the adjusters voice mail and i now have an official Mazda ducumentation deeming the car driveable but unsafe do to the damage on the door. my body shop guy said he would issue the same type of ducumentation as to help me from getting screwed over with the rental ans stuff like that.

sorry...just let out some aggression on the key board...

Good luck, I hate trying to deal with crap after accidents. I got in one with my accord, completely the other person's fault-they issued her a ticket for careless driving. But her insurance company didnt' believe me when I told them that, and they wanted the police report, which is fine. The problems began when I found out there's only one person who does the reports at the station and they took a couple weeks off and it was all backed up. I called them twice a day to ask if it was done yet, eventually they got it. Then it was another month of harassing the insurance company to get the money for my car

Damn!! I'm insured by Allstate. Mr. Ed's....hang in there buddy. I'm sure it will all work out. The good news is, your insured, shes insured. If all else fails go through your insurance comapny with the claim, they will then legally persue Allstate.

Convertible PT Cruiser? Excuse me while I vomit. Make sure you hang a big sign from your surf board saying, "This is NOT my car."

i thought about shoe polishing the window to say "rental car" but that would ad even more to the HUGE blind spots on this car. needless to say i am taking the PT back tomorrow to see if i can get the focus or cavaleir.

my overall review of the ragtop cruiser...it sluggish, ugly, overall slow, handles like crap, does not take speed bumps well at 40mph, its ugly, it not my 8...but it does have a very decent sound system.

I'm dreading the day a convertible RX-8 comes out. Convertible Mini Cooper, convertible VW Bug, convertible PT Cruiser -- enough with the convertibles already!

1/16 was a bad day I see. I got nicely scraped by an uninsured motorist on private property and must have my full bumper replaced.
No insurance.
No English.
No US drivers license.
And I get to pay for a $500 deductible if I decide to go thru my insurance. Right now I have the adjustor & the collision shop trying to match each other's estimates. I'll decide from there if it's worth the risk of increased rates for a couple hundred dollars of coverage

I've been thinking about debadging the trunk while I'm at it tho, of course that's all out of my pocket. Decided against the MS Bumper since it's $800 only for the lower portion. I'd still have to have the replace the other part of the bumper.

Sorry about your car dangit. I can't believe people just don't freaking look!

Ok you are definitely going through 8 with drawls, just find a nice paper bag and breath nice and slow until you come back to normal. Although it is interesting to see the renesis in another car. I think I might put the cover on my celica and see how it looks, maybe even paint it winning blue to match my 8. :D
