Aahh That Felt Good to Drive Her Again!!
I was sick for a week, spent 4 days in the hospital and then had my gallbladder removed. I've been home in bed for a week and had all my staples removed yesterday, today had enough strength to sneak out of the house and take my baby for a spin. The sound, the response, the completely flat cornering. You get used to it until you're out of it for awhile. Geez, that felt good!!! My wife's gonna be pissed when she finds out I went for a little spin.

Must be nice! I just had two heart valves replaced last Thursday. I came home from the hospital on Monday. I just got back in from my fourth walk today getting stronger and I read this. Dude I am looking at three more weeks with a busted breast bone before I can even think about driving by baby again! The feeling you just describe put a big smile on my face. Trust me the thoughts of simply driving my baby is putting a big ole smile on my face right now. In three weeks I will post again and let you know what it felt like for me after not driving for a total of four. Go easy do not over do it. And good luck with your recovery.

I was really, really sick and on morphine for 3 days straight. Makes you realize how precious and fragile life is.

This story kind of describes how I felt when I went to NYC for vacation for 10 days. I was missing and itching to drive her again. Especially since the day I left for vacation my Exhaust showed up on my doorstep, making me want to install it right away. Once I got home I didnt even unpack, straight to the car for a quick spin on a couple backroads.

Same thing happened last year when I had my left shoulder partial replacement. Got home a few days and said I am going to just sit in and start up the engine at least. Then once started I said to myself just not good to shut her down or sit there and let the carbon build. The next thing I knew I headed for the back curvy roads driving and shifting with my right arm and talk about adrenaline flow. It was just 10 months ago and every time I think about it I still get elated. Oh what a joy these cars are to own!
