Advanced Keyless Entry (Aux Key)

So a few days ago, I realized that the auxiliary key that fits inside of the rest of the key had fallen out. It felt like it could've fallen out at any time, so I'm not too surprised it did. So now all I'm left with is the remote which relies on the key battery to start the car and unlock the doors/trunk etc.

I don't want to be in the middle of nowhere and have my remote die sooooooo..

Although I do have a full spare set of keys, I want to save those for more emergency situations tbh.

Would buying the key blanks from the link below work? Obviously I would need to get them cut. But some people were complaining that they didn't work because there wasn't a chip in them or something?

Any suggestions on what I should do guys? I'm sure this has happened to somebody before.

Thx

While I don't have that style, I upgrade my 04 to the 05+ flip key, and I got it from eBay (20$) and both the remote and the key itself programmed/worked flawlessly. I got mine from the seller Keyless King, and was very pleased with their responses via communication and the product it self. Might be worth seeing if that seller has the type you're looking for?
