a FULL replica Mazdaspeed body kit for $175? (auction still pending..)
run way, run far far away from that thing.
I can almost GUARANTEE you that the fitment will be terrible, you'll spend HUNDREDS fixing the fitment. That's usually the case with cheap replicas.

lol, i bought it already -__- This place makes the majority of the money from shipping though. The shipping was $250!!! So far the front bumper and rear spoiler fit alright. Im just not too happy with the side skirts....

You guys are right, the shipping does cost more than the item because it came in a gigantic box but other than that it was a sweet deal. I paid $410 for a full body kit. Yeah its a replica and yeah it may not fit perfect to the T but it fits. Oh and most importantly, it makes the car look hot as hell!

gigantic box or not.... you got ripped off at $250 dollars for shipping.
I shipped a huge *** spoiler to FL in a gigantic box for like 25 dollars. Talking a 8x1x1 box filled with paper and what not as padding.

they usually lower the price of the item so that when you search ebay with "lowest first" their item would show up first, but then they jack up the shipping to offset the cost.
but as for shipping now a days, its kind of getting ridiculous. i just shipped a bracket in a box no bigger than 5x5x5in via USPS. cost me $11 bucks.

I have seen some great fitting knock offs and some shitty fitting brand name stuff. It all depends, some times you get lucky so if you are willing to take the risk then it's all good.

ebay sellers do it all the time. technically he did not get ripped off for the shipping, but he did get ripped off for the kit.

As an ebay seller myself I can kind of sympathize. I mean, ebay takes 12-15% off the top of every sale (shipping not included). Then paypal turns right around and takes 3% more off the top of every sale (shipping included). So if I sell a $100 item with $15 shipping, by the time that item has shipped I have only gotten about $83 for it. Maybe closer to $70 if I account for the hour it took to photograph and list the part, then go out and find myself some packaging materials, buy the tape and printer toner/paper for printing labels, then turn back around and drive the shipment to the UPS terminal. This does not take into account monthly store fees and relist fees (I think the store fee is $16-20/month plus 20 cents per listed item per month). IT's entirely possible to actually lose money selling an item if you don't list it just right or try to make at least a few extra dollars on shipping/handling.
OF course I'm not a proponent of gouging on shipping like some do.
Also, it makes a difference whether you do "calculated" shipping or "flat rate" shipping. Calculated is more buyer-friendly and gives actual rates based on buyer location, while flat rate is usually the seller's calculation of the highest possible rate for any (far away) area within the continental US. So the buyers who happen to be closer to the seller get the shaft and still pay that highest calculated rate. As a seller, if you try to do flat rate on the "average" shipping cost, you WILL get shafted because a buyer from the other side of the country (for me, washington state and socal are the highest rates in the continental us, usually 25% higher than anywhere else) WILL be the one to buy your ****, guaranteed.
On the other hand sometimes the 'calculated" system doesn't work right, or buyers aren't logged in when viewing the listing so they don't get the "calculated" shipping rate, and then send you questions asking "yo dawg, how much shipping fo dis to 12345 bumf*ck". Or sometimes the "calculated" system doesn't collect enough shipping, and you either refund the payment and **** the buyer off and take your negative feedback and DSR ratings (which in turn affects your account and makes your fees higher or can get you banned as a seller) or you eat the loss and use your profits to make up the shipping discrepancy. So setting a high 'flat rate" definitely has it's advantages even if you are trying to be a "fair" seller.

Sorry guys, I only got the front bumper on which fits perfect! Im just waiting to get some body work done on my car so i can finish assembling the kit. Oh and i gotta agree with "9krpmrx8", you can be surprised with the kind of deals there are out there, you just gotta have the ***** to put your cash at risk. Yeah the body kit was cheap and I did pay alot for shipping but these guys in specific dont plan on making money on the kit. They got a hookup with some random small shipping service that basically lets them ship stuff for free. You guys can think what you want and are all entitled to your own opinions, im just posting this up so you guys can check it out....thats it. When i finish the car in a week or two, ill post up pics.

That happens when you work 12 hours a day plus suffer from lack of sleep.
I had a really bad experience with a body kit that was cheaper once. It was a little hard to get the paint color matched perfectly because the cheaper material used in the kit didn't want to hold paint. Plus that car was atlantic blue, where they used chrome in the paint. I know some of ours have metallic paint as well. The oxidization of the old paint vs the new made it even harder. The chrome in our paint all oxidized at the same rate so you don't notice it as much. I was just curious how his color matching went, and if you can tell that one piece is much newer than say the fenders or hood is all.

I was also thinking of how much of a pain it was to get the color matched on a car that the metal flakes have started to oxidize and dull out. The first time you could tell because the paint matched but the reflection did not, so they went back and remixed the paint differently to get it matched up. I have noticed on my 8 that the metal is dulling down due to age, and I had plans for replacing some parts. I know its always better to just repaint the entire car, but I really just want to do a front bumper, driver side fender, and driver side door.

I just ordered a Seibon carbon fiber hood for my 2010. I'd appreciate any advice or stories of experience with this kind of stuff. I also ordered a carbon fiber spoiler but, apparently the factory is closed all of February for Chinese New Year and I can't get my part until March. WTF?
