after 4 years... I got my 8!

So after 4 years of drooling every time I saw an 8 ever since the x-men movie, and secretely hating the lucky SOB that was driving whichever one I happened to see... I finally got my own!

Thanks a lot to harlan for letting me take his baby, the look on his face when I drove away was pure regret and sadness, but I'll take good care of her for him. The car was flawless when I picked it up, and now it has 2 very small rock chips in the windshield courtesy of crappy california back highways and 2 semis. not to mention a bunch of new chips in the bumper, and that was only a 100 mile drive. Time for some clearbra as soon as possible. Other than the rocks that made me cuss like a sailor each time one hit tho, I was in bliss driving home... this car cruises like a dream!

but here she is! an 05 titanium gray with 7000 miles and dark chromed rims. Soon to come, fender strakes (maybe black? what do you think?) and a protective mesh for the oil cooler before it takes another rock. (I F$#%ING HATE TRUCKS)

I'll post some more artistic pictures with nice scenery when I get the chance and in the proper forum as well

Congrats! Nice pic!
Chrome strakes to go with the chrome wheels. See Rotary13b1 group buy.
Get the Racing beat screens for the AC condenser and oil coolers

congrats on finally getting your dream car.

as for rock chips, yeah.. mazda paint isnt very tough. i commute 30 miles 1 way to class, and the front of my car looks like someone has been shooting at it with a bb gun. when it gets to bad i'll have it repainted (or get a ms bumper) and put a clearbra on it.

get a clearbra, they are nearly invisible. normal black bras are not sexy! for sexy bras go to www.victoriassecret.com/ :P

I won't be modding her I don't think, unless it's adding some appearance stuff, the only mod it's had done so far is the always on fog lights. I'm still paranoid about screwing up the engine by not warming it up or using super in it (which I am)

But I can't get enough of looking at this sexy machine!

I LOVE the way the engine sounds stock, no way I'm making it louder. I was pulling out of parking today and intended to just take off and listen to the engine rev up and realized before I hit the speed limit that I'd gunned it out in front of a cop... thank god I saw him or I would have gotten a ticket on my second day of ownership. He followed me for quite a while but couldn't bust me for anything so he didn't follow me into the parking lot for a local strip mall... phew!

Oh yeah and then I was going to go to vons to pick up some food and instead of pulling into the parking lot I said "screw it" and went for a 20 mile drive down some twisties instead

I'm almost happy I didn't get a blue one, the color is really growing on me and the rims just jive with it so much...

Congrats on the 8
You'll enjoy the sweet sound of the rotary for years to come
Just take care of the car and it will return the favor on S-Turns
and i too share your pain and hatred for Trucks
Got so many dents on my hood bec. of highway driving
Scenic routes are a complete blast with the 8. Reminds me of the first week i got my car. Took the extra 12 miles home just for the S-Turns.

congrats! lunch breaks usually end up being long drives, followed by woofing down a sandwich quickly. Who needs to eat slow and enjoy food when you could be driving???!!

the 8 is a very nice car to drive daily, it's just the gas that is a pain, mine only runs on premium apparently and the gas mileage sucks. Buf if you can deal with that... it's a great daily driver

Congrats on the new purchase!

Try and leave as much distance as you can from trucks. They can shoot rocks up to 150ft away at 60mph.

+1 for Titanium Gray. Congrats man and welcome to the club! Make sure you have gotten all the TSB's done, especially the taillights, which will bother you if they end up getting filled with condensation. Also, make sure you always look out for cops before doing something reckless. They are going to pay attention to you more because it is a sports car especially if you have mods. Most owners have radar detectors. Don't forget to check your oil every other fill up. Most importantly have fun with your new 8.
