Just installed a turboxs exhaust in my driveway today, tried to turn it on and it wouldnt. All the electronics werk fine, but the engine doesnt crank. Checked all the fuses and they seem to be fine. Any ideas anyone? And please got to get this thing started tonight.

When you turned off the engine was it cold? You could have flooded it.

Are you just getting a "click, click" sound when you turn the key? or is it trying to start but doesn't actually turn over?

the engine was warm when i turned it off, but i did turn it on and shut it off within maybe a minute, but the engine was warm. Jump dont work, all the electrical power is there but no crank. Its probably flooded though.

bro read ur own post
"RoXanneBlack8: if its flooded it wouldnt crank. "

Battery is not dead, it has plenty of juice. Although i did try to jump it with a f250. It did not crank. So what are you saying? You have two contradicting posts. Its not the batter, and if its not ******* flooded what the hell could it be?

Wait, wait. I need some clarification here.

When you press the clutch in (make sure you are pressing it in ALL THE WAY, as hard you possibly can *just to make sure*), and then turn the ignition key, does the starter crank? Or does it just click?

If the engine was simply flooded, it will crank, but the engine will not catch (turn on).

Hehe yes the clutch is pressed all the way, as far as it goes. There is no crank. Its as if the started was dead. I was thinking it should crank as well but im not sure anymore.

For a few minutes i had the rear end up pretty high on jacks, while the front was on the ground. Could anything have happened then?

I dunno I just dont get it. When i changed the exhaust i didnt start the car, didnt even get in the car. Never opened the hood, did nothing.

Ye so now im kinda confused. Should the starter crank when its flooded? or should it not?

The car will DEFINITELY crank if it is just flooded. Has happened to me 4 times and cranked every time.

If the car just clicks when you try to start the car, the starter solenoid is kicking in. But, there isn't enought current to turn the starter. Since you say you tried to jump it and that didn't help, we can rule out the battery. The only thing left is the wires going to the starter are loose (on the starter or on the battery) or the starter it self is bad.

Did you get back under the car to see if something might have been pulled loose?

This happened to me once. I'm trying to remember WHAT it was that fixed the problem..but I can't!

Try disconnecting the battery for 5 minutes, and then after reconnecting it, wait 5 minutes or so. Try starting the car then.

If I remember what I did..I'll let you know :\

Well its not flooded and its not the battery. Push started the car and it fires right up. However when I turn it off, no crank no nothing, same problem. Tried to push started one more time no problem, drove around for over half an hour, turned it off, again same problem. Looks like its the starter. Ill dig around tomorrow see if I can find anything but i dont think ill find the problem. Theres really nothing around the exhaust that may have caused it. I dunno. Thanks everyone and keep the suggestions, hopeful answers coming.
