I'll be 34, and this will be my third Mazda. From the tone of the discussions on this board, I really would have guessed most people were a lot older.
Not older, just better educated(or is that behaved?)
Now hold still so I can hit you with my cane. I'll be 40 in 4 months.(Hello, mid-life crisis, nice to see ya!) *sigh*

I'm 34, and plan to get one of the first ones.

I can't believe that I seem to be on the older end of the age spectrum here: I wish I could've afforded a '93 Seven when they came out, back when I was in my 20's....

And yeah, as a matter of fact, I DID have to trudge uphill both ways in blinding snowstorms...

Hit him with your cane? LOL

Forty is old? I will be 48 in just a few days so that probably makes me the oldest old fart in this forum! But I’m willing to bet that I feel younger than half of you young whippersnappers in here.

I had a brand new 1976 280Z when I was 22 for God sake!

Hmmmmmm. I already had my mid-life crisis when I was 30; does that mean I am only going to live to be 60??

My wife was just looking over my shoulder and she said, looking at some pics: that is the ideal car for a midlife crisis, go for it!! I am not sure if I am happy now. Cheers.

Circle of Life

I’m 38…Bought my ’87 RX-7 new at the age of 22 & it’s been my daily driver ever since. I’ve got 252,000 miles on the original engine & had my first major problem just two weeks ago…FIRE!!! Four Pick-Your-Part cadavers, $300 worth of stuff from MazdaTrix & about thirty hours of wrenching has put the “Rocket” back on the road & that’s where it’ll stay until the RX-8 is available.

Is it just me or do you other old guys hear Elton John singing “The Circle Of Life” every time one of these twenty somethin’ youngins posts???

I wouldn't worry to much - just think how happy you'll feel when you're driving it!

Tomorrow's my birthday and I'll be 48! And hey, I've never had the need for a mid-life crises - becaue (like Peter Pan) I'll never grow up!

Whoa... 252k? You need to go testify on some of the threads where people are asking about reliability.

Thanks for the greetings! But thanks to my 4 1/2 year old daughter ... When I'm home, I'm listening to the WIGGLES (anyone with toddlers will know what I mean), but being more of a "child of the 60's and 70's and If I'm not listening to traffic breaks on the radio David Bowie's "Changes" and Panic in Detroit" come to mind ...

Me too! And maybe we'll also trade in the wife's 2000 Passat for a 6 hatchback

28. So I guess I'm in the biggest age bracket

It makes too much sense for me. I want a RWD serious sportscar that doesn't weigh a million pounds...and since I will most likely have kids in the next few years, I need 4 seats. Before I saw the RX8 I was sure I would have to compromise on something. The fact that the price is going to be ~$30k has me tickled pink! I can't wait.

Cool

I'm 43 and I've never purchased a "sports car" until now. Well..at least a pre-order. I don' t feel like a mid-lifer but my wife did frown on my first few picks which were on the lines of a TT, 350Z, BMW 3 series, and other 2 door "daddy's car". I saw the RX and asked how she felt about a 4 door with room for the kids? She said yes so I called the dealer and said "YES!".
