Air Bag Question

Does the front passenger air bag have a disable feature so younger children can sit up front? I seem to remember seeing a pic of this from one of the Japanese cars but don't remember seeing it in the US spec car. My 7 year old is wanting to sit up front with dad

You'll need to petition NHTSA for a waiver.

Edit: IF the car doesn't come with one from the factory.

the cars that they drove at laguna seca have this

and someone mentioned that their car has it also, but they had not seen it lit up, they were just asking what it was. there was talk awhile ago about a sensor in the seat having to detect a mazda approved chiled seat that would then turn the airbag off. i have no proof that this is the case.
