Air Release Noise

So kind of a weird question, but I really have not noticed this noise before. I don't want to sound like those people who ask "is this normal?" but I really am wondering b/c I have never heard it. When all is quiet in the car... I rev the engine a tiny bit and hear a faint release of (what sounds like air). It is the same noise as a turbo'd BOV, but is a lot quieter. I can hear it every time I rev & then release the gas pedal. Even driving with no music, I can hear it when I shift. It very well could be normal, but I never heard it before (maybe b/c I always listen to music)

I had a new engine replaced about 2,000 miles ago if that makes a diff.

Can anyone enlighten me?

I've not noticed anything like that with mine, but I'll listen again when I get in it tonight. Do you have a manual or auto?

Manual. It sounds exactly like a BOV does (but obv. I dont have a Turbo). Its very faint, but def. noticable at sit still with no music and other noise.

Uh, shutter valve opening on the engine?

VFAD opening?

Most likely just the intakes on the engine opening and closing. Different ports open when the engine gets into higher rpms.

And another quick note, NO power difference or driving difference.
