Allow myself to introduce... myself
My name is Alexander, but on the forums you can call me mTheory (based on the name of my design firm).
I am the proud new owner of '05 pearl white base RX8 with 55k on the odo! For months I've been obsessively devouring the information on this site, and it was instrumental in my decision making process when buying an 8. It took me 3 months of intensive car hunting, but two weeks ago I finally found exactly what I was looking for.
A white, light and basic 8
A lot of fellow car guys (even RX8 guys) complain about the power-plant leaving much to be desired, but I find the power delivery to be quite satisfying. Mind you I just got out of a 2 year lease with a Hyundai Eblahntra... so this thing feels like a rocketship. However, starting out as an Auto-x racer at age 15 turned drifter in my 20's, I have only ever owned fast cars (Turbo Miata, Two SR powered S14's, a 340whp Porsche 951, and an '04 STi.) With that said, I'm not disappointed.
The thing that drew me to this car was the beautiful design, superb handling (reminds me of my miata) and 4-door utility. Not to mention having grown up with, and influenced by my father who raced RX7's throughout the 80's... I have always wanted a rotary of my own.
So needless to say I am quite happy with the decision I've made. And with the help of the rx8club I look forward to learning more about my car, modding it to my needs (canyon carving... for now) and interacting with all my fellow rotor-heads.
If anyone is ever down to meet up at Cars n' Coffee in Irvine Ca, I try to make it whenever I can. Just PM me.
Now on to the modding... first up are some Tein S-Techs and new wheels/tires. The previous owner set the car up with nice looking but anemically skinny 18"x 7.5" wheels. So grip is on the agenda. I'm already through 28 out of 362 pages of the "Will it fit" thread, and am honing in on my ideal set-up.
Anyway I just wanted to introduce myself since I'll be spending a lot of time here.
Cheers!

Precisely! Because white reflects the light rather than holding on to those pesky photons like colored cars I figure I have approximately a .000003275 gram weight savings advantage over those who prefer pigment.

Nah Ti Grey is fastest cuz Titanium is very strong and light, giving it the best chassis of all 8's

Thanks for the warm welcome fellas.
Yeah Jims5543, You caught on to my subtle Austin Powers reference in the title... But now that you pointed it out I can't help but read my original post in Dr. Evil's voice. DAMMIT!
