Hey guys i just came back from the dealership right now and i am speechless. I was in the test drive and the 8 threw me away. Omg the feelign was amzing and the guy drove it fast as hell through turns and stuff. I went to go buy a used 04 or 05 8 and they said they didnt have any. So they took me to the garage with all the new 06's. They test drove an 8 and I could not believe a car can actually do what it did. Now is the price good because they offered me $23k for a brand new 06 Touring Ed. 6spd manual red. I said no because I can only pay $20k so I walked out after 2 hours of talking and driving. They seemed nice but would they be calling me back to buy the car or no? Any input is appreciated. Thnx

If your that close on being able to afford the payments then you are being really dumb even considering the car. Thats why so many repo's happen. People just have to have a car and stretch the payments to the limit, then one little thing happens and they end up losing it. Wait until you can really afford a nice car, until then drive a cheapo, you will end up much better in the long run.

Yeah don't over do it on cost. I've been hanging out here for quite some time and I still don't have one. If I have to strain to make the payment, I won't enjoy it. It may be another two years, it may be next year, but my budget is about 15K. By then we'll know a little more about durability as well.

Ya but the part that pissed me off is that on the internet it showed that they had a used 04 for $19k, and when i got there they had nothign but 06's. Tommorrow im going to another dealer hopegully they one that I like. But the test drive was soooo amzing even though it was 10 mins. I loved when he turned going 30 it felt like geforce or something. Amazing car i cant wait to get it (Red 6spd manual)

Have friend teach you. In some states you can even find classes that teach how to drive a stick. I would strongly suggest you learn how before you buy one.

I didn't have trouble learning to drive stick however i didn't have anyone to teach me. So the next day I googled it and realised my mistakes and day two was much better. From then on I have just been getting better and learning to rev match.
But yea I nearly cried the first day since I was like OMG did I make a 30K mistake but day two was more rewarding. So there thas my lil story

I was in the same boat as you. All that I did was read up about it online (the only friend with a stick was a guy with a WS6...he said no
) and I found several vidoes that helped also. Then, just go and take one for a test drive. Sure, the shifts werent very smooth, but just dont buy that particular car

I bought my first stick car and then had to learn how to drive it. Got one lesson from the dealer and a friend who came with me to pick it up, practiced on an empty street for a while, and I was able to drive it home. Took a lot of concentration and all, but after a week or two it was starting to become natural. By all means, don't let lack of stick skills stop you from buying a stick.

Learn the stick it will be worth the time and energy and is pretty easy once you get started.
$23K for a 06 GT(I assume new) is a very good deal, best I have heard of.
Live with in your budget, if you can't afford it then move on.

Thnx for all te advices and i will get manual for sure. But i went today to buy an used 04 with 23k miles on it and they were selling it for 21k with all the taxes etc. I dont know if it was worth it but the monthly payments are too much for me i can only afford 300 a month for the car payment because i have to pay for insurance and etc. So how much should a car be for me to pay 300$ a month for it. Thnx.
