Almost killed a mazda dealer today
So i brought my car in for service this morning, just regular maitence nothing wrong and i had some time to kill so i walked over to their lot of cars and started looking around at a mazda 3 (for the girlfriend not me) a mazda dealer walks out and greets me and i notice hes the sales mgr and we start talking. He gives me his whole sales pitch and tells me he has been selling mazdas for 5 years now and how knowledgeable he is about them. I mention to him i was having my 8 serviced and just looking around at the 3's. He then looks at me and askes me what kind of engine do i have in my 8 a 4cy or v6. I look at him and then walked away to wait for my car never giving him a answer....I know we all say we know more about our cars then the dealers and we do...But jesus ******* christ, all i have to say was that i was glad i didnt buy my car from that dealer.

Hahahaha!
Oh, the mental image is pure comedy. It is really sad how little these jokers know abou tthe vehicles they sell. Especially the single most unique model on the lot, to not be familiar with that one bit of trivia, it is unforgivable, seriously.

Wow........that really sucks.........I would of just corrected and said its a rotary engine and see if he knows what that is or i would of asked him for a RX-8 Brochure and show him the pics and specs for rotary engine? Maybe i have more patience but thats an embarassment honestly for a sales manager who been sellin mazdas for 5 years and then at the end of the convo, asks whether you have a 4 or 6 cyl in ur RX-8.........I would expect that from a newbie sales guy not a sales manager.

hahaha the same thing happened to me except one of the salesmen said "the rotary engine is a beast in it's own, powered by 4 cylinders" I laughed and wished he just stopped after "beast in it's own".

just like a rotary engine is not a reciprocating engine, a Mazda sales rep is not a Mazda dealer ...
that typical sales rep may have been pitching telephone solicitations for the Police Benevolent Society the week before ...

The sales guy that sold the car to me gave me the rotary speech as we were talking.... (check oil every other fill up, don't shut it off cold, if you turn it off, rev to 3k rpm for about 6 to 10 sec then turn off, redline often to keep carbon away), etc...
Glad that there are some that are the exception.
