Catalyst, you are not alone
Chalk up another problem free 8. As was mentioned before, most people tend to discuss their issues on the board. Most people get tired of those who keep talking about how great their car is running.
Although I don't own what can be considered a high mileage vehicle, I have not experienced any of the "commonplace" issues and have found the car to be well put together. My mileage stays between 16-18 mpg which is ok for me considering I drive pretty brisk and have never done a whole tank of highway miles. I do not have to add very much oil at all, have never flooded, and feel like there is plenty of power when you keep your revs up above 6k RPM. I've been real gentle with the interior of my car, but the one rattle I had seems to have gone away and I know which parts to be soft with thanks to others on the board.
So you are definitely not the only one with a "good" 8.

No problems with mine, they just recently flashed mine to whatever the newest one is, I did notice that my MPG went down 1 gallon. I was getting 18, now I get 17. the best mpg I have gotten is 24 with 100% freeway driving.

No 8 problems.
Great dealership ( A new 660 CCA battery for its 1st Birthday under warranty ).
Gas 16 to 18 city. 20 to 22 hwy. Used 1Qt. of oil after 2200 mi round trip to Fla. with a few oz once a month. I have noticed a slight increas in oil useage since N Flash but I put that down to HIGHER REVS. :D
