That's what I thought and that's why I follow service manual intervals.

Saying that changing oil at 3.5K would prevent engine failure at 5K sounds a bit crazy to me. Sorry.

Anyway I took my car to dealerhip this morning.
It's about 40 miles from my home - all h/w miles.
Car barely started today and felt toally powerless but after about 35 miles it "cured", not exaclty as it was before but most much more powerfull than it was just 35 miles ago.
WTF?

This time I had to sign paper saying that I'll be charged some $140 for inspection and $36 for car rental. Look's like "free" repairs are over

depending on how old/new the 8 you get is you will prob have to get most of the work the OP posted done. Majority of them are normal TSBs

Well, looks like I'm screwed.

Service adviser told me that engine is OK it is jut loaded with carbon.
Apparently 5K is enough for that.

Now they want to do following:
New spark plugs - $298.00
Fuel injector cleaning - $98.00
Rental car 2 days @ 36.20 - $72.00
Some service fee - $140.00

On top of that they want to put new starter - $667.00, I actually complained about that hard start issue when I had 4/50K warranty but they could not find anything wrong!

Any advices?

Found TSB

It says clearly decarb procedure has to be performed when loss of power reported and it is covered under 8/100 warranty.

I guess I'll have to talk to them tomorrow again.
