Lol, jet engine just about sums it up.
Just curious... But for those of you who have tried aftermarket intakes, is this sound amplified at all? Or maybe that neat trilling sound it makes just above 1k rpms?

vectorwolf... if you snap on a K&N Typhoon Intake...then "amplified" is a light way of putting it. That thing adds a death scream to the car making it sound like its being raped and slaugthered every time you accelerate hard.

The K&N honks like a sodomized goose!
I took it for a test run thru my little community, on to the highway and back - I decided to take a different route back thru town, in case someone had called the COPS on the way out!
That thing is awful - it bellows at 3000, honks at 5000, and will vibrate the Homelink enough to make it unusable at 7000!
...and it's not a 'throaty roar', it's more like, well, the goose-abuse seems closest!

I do believe that "honks like a sodomized goose" gets my vote as the quote of the week. 
Other posts have quoted 90 decibels for the volume of some of the intakes. It would drown out The Renesis Symphony (number 13B).
