Stew's a dick. He's a dick to everyone, so just ignore him. I saw a picture of him, and if I looked like he does, I'd be pretty angry with the world as well.

I love my 8, but no car is perfect. I have a minor gripe with the heater control. I think the detents are too far apart. There are times when one click is too much, so I have to carefully position the control **** between clicks. Perhaps I'm nitt-picking, but why not keep refining a great car?

I disagree with you here. There are ways you can react to certain comments. People coming on here and asking questions is normal, and everyone tries to help each other out. Who cares if the question has been asked before? If you have such a problem with a particular thread then don't read it. It's as simple as that.

Stew just takes it to a new level. He insults everyone, and considers himself smarter than most on this forum. check one of the other posts he recently put up today.....he's talking about how "smart" he is in regards to the rotary, and talks about his knowledge like he invented it. Talk about cocky and arrogant.

[QUOTE=TRUOMEGA;1907560]Now we all know that this car isnt all peaches and cream. Theres a sticky above showing the positives of the car but in reality, there are also negatives. What little thing dont u like about the car that u wished mazda would have improved on? For me its:

1-Climate control where every position except the front vents get a/c wether u like it
or not
2-The fuel consumption
3-closing the windows/sunroof requires u to hold the button down instead of auto.
4-The heated seats really dont get that heated compared to other manufacturers.
5-The trunk doesnt open aTl the way when u press trunk release button.
6-The head unit is integrated into the dash leaving u no options for an after market
stereo

a stab.

1 read owners manual now, and before you buy a car.
2 move away from the city.. 72k miles here. mpg ave 21mpg
3 if you know a lawyer kick him or her in the nuts or the axe wound.
4 ? you have so got the wrong car if that is important.
5 see ? 4 are you that lazy?
6 k corksport has one, but if you did your reseach before you got the car?

i will give you a fault in the car... the door holder opener things suck.. dont keep the door open on level ground.. i cant imagine what happens in the hills or mountians..

crh are you listening..

beers

the visor is useless when flipped to cover the driver's side window. I've been meaning to ask if there is any trick to deal with it.

The original thread was made to combat all the whining about problems on this thread. Is this he mother of all reposts then?

Stew has his issues, the noobs are taking over, but the forums need to be cleaned up. Too much unecessary **** going, too many RX8 vs 350z threads, too many oil threads, too many e-egos getting all butt hurt, etc. Then the lounge is a leghumping fest and whatnot. Doesn't make the forums as attractive as it once was, or at least the General forums.

Agree about the forum. Some more vigilant oversight is needed and a lot more thread closings needed as well.

Cool Technical resource.....

There is a wealth of knowledge here, it's just buried deep.

Personally, I would never even venture into the Lounge if I didn't have to - it's just totally irrelevant (by definition), and about as entertaining as Facebook.....

There is a general tightening of standards taking place, the abuse of noobs is becoming serious, the tone of replies to (simple) questions needs to change, and some attitudes may need adjustment along the way.

(Any comments made by this doofus do not reflect the position of site management....S)

Im not gonna sell my car based on these minor quirks and certainly not because someone said to. I knew that they were there when i bought the car and it did not deter me from buying one. If anything, this thread could be useful to people before they buy the car. Maybe they will find something here that they wont like about the car and not purchase it instead of buying it then posting "i hate this car because: the dipstick is to short, the trunk doesnt open all the way up, the visor isnt worth a dam", etc...... As it appears alot of members prefer that than having someone not purchase the car or be a member for that matter.
Inevitably, People here will eventually leave this community and then what will this forum be withought new members whether they ask lame questions or not? It will diminish to just a small handfull of people that will talk about how crappy there day was and have no comments about the car. At that point, admin would may have well change the forum name from rx8club.com to howwasurcrappyday.com.
So back to the basics. There r some factors that i would have hoped Mazda improved on such as items in my list. Perhaps when the new gen Mazda rotary comes out someone from there design team would have "glanced" at this post.. perhaps not. Who knows? As with any car, the rx8 certainly isnt perfect and granted, every single imperfection posted here can be improved on with time and money. Some people dont have the money nor the technical skills nor the time to resolve any of these issues where as some do but For example, the head unit.... u can buy an after market part that u can incorporate an after market head unit but on top of the cost for a new stereo ull have to spend nearly 500 dollars to buy the adapter so as an improvement, i would have hoped Mazda would have made a head unit that is interchangeable with after market radios. That was my mere implication when this thread started. Not that it cant be done rather that its a shame they didnt.
This forum is not here to reign over your guidelines as to what and what not to post. That task is placed on the admin (which by the way does a great job of keeping this forum going). This isnt the first forum iv been a member of as Iv been on it for over 6 months doing research but registerd 6 months ago. Im not a noob to forums although i may be considered a noob to this particular one and this certainly isnt a noob type of thread.
This thread is here to help members find out about the car in detail and/or for sheer curiosity to others. Things that a potential buyer may have missed when test driving it or researching. Its alot easier looking at one thread rather than spending hours to find an X amount of individual threads talking about 1 particular thing.
As many of us do, Im sure we see posts that are distasteful to us or have been discussed before. If i know the answer i would repost to assist but if i cant help the member I for one just dont contribute rather than posting "use search, this topic has been discussed 100 times, ur an idiot, sell ur car, i dont know, or remarks of that nature. Theres no need to make lame *** comments like that as they are useless information and some of which r unrealistic. Who knows? maybe other new members may have the same question and couldnt find the answer in search but are affraid to get bashed if they do post? Could be that he/she finds an easier solution on there own to a problem with the car where they were turned away over here and that being the case, Why would someone want to contribute there findings when they were treated so poorly on this forum? (an unlikely far fetched situation but...) "Hey guys, i found a way to increase low end torque by 20%, heres the results from the dyno. It took me 1 hour of work and the added part only cost me 50 dollars. But why the hell am i gonna share my findings with u guys who called me an idiot and wouldnt assist?"
If u want to be an upstanding member in which people will take value on ur comments and opinions then post a more constructive thread that will benefit others.

^^ I don't even have the patience to read this jumbled mess.

I, like most people, am a member of a bunch of different forums; RX8 club, Jeep forums, Gun forums, etc. The problem here isn't noobs coming in and ruining it, or people asking dumb questions. The problem is that the RX8 forum has so little to talk about.

As crazy as that idea sounds, it's true. We argue about stupid small **** and feel bad for each other when the dealership won't pay for our repairs out of boredom. We talk about the same mods over and over again, we repost dumb videos until the entire world has seen them.

Our cars have been around for barely 4 years and quite honestly there's not too much to say about them compared to guys that have been wrenching on their Jeeps for the past 60 years, or collecting guns since the 1940's.

Our cars don't break as much, we don't have to rely on each other as much, and we aren't constantly looking for help to fix everything that's broken. Face it, 75% of the material on this site is probably repost or already covered material.

To those of you who have post counts in the thousands and brag about it as if they're the Einstein of the Eight, screw off. I personally, while respecting the fact that they may be knowledgable about the subject at hand, do not look up to a person who hides behind a high post count and a computer.

Sick of the noobs asking dumb questions? Don't answer. More importantly, quit the flaming ****. It just makes you look like an ***.

There's a time and place for everything. Grow up, everyone. Let's do what we came here to do. Have fun and help each other out.

Ok. I think I'm done. Can someone give me a hand down from here....thanks.

^ Agreed. Forums are not and never have been good, organized collections of information about anything. People need to lighten up -- n00bs aren't ruining anything. Post something funny, informative, or at the very least coherent and logical or don't bother responding.

i love it when members think that noobs are taking over and there are too many repeating threads. It's an internet forum, not YOUR internet forum. This site hasn't jumped the shark, new people are buying cars, life goes on and whether you were a member of this site or not (or whether you have 1 post or 5000) this site would continue uninterupted if you never joined (or decided to leave.)

Everyone should stop thinking they're so important.
