Glad to hear you had a great time and 8 was flawless. So what kind of MPG did you average over the trip? Anything noteworthy about the car - thoughts?
Is that dealership lettering on your trunk? You'll find that very very few Californians have them on their car. I would never buy a car with it on - take it off or no deal.
The BMW/Mini dealer in SF gets away with it. Don't know how...

haha i'm too lazy to take the dealer sticker off!
gas mileage was decent for pure highway. got a little over 300 miles on one tank doing about 80mph the entire time. the car made some strange noises while idling after 10 hours of driving and hot weather. there is a little bit more tranny noise now or maybe it's the TOB can't tell. oil didn't burn any more than it usually does. the car was very comfortable to make the trip in. i hit a bird going 85 but no denting!

One of the first things I did after getting my '05 was to do a round-trip drive from Michigan to Florida. The fast route would have been to just take I-75 down and back, but we took I-95 down with a stop in Savannah, and the return route was I-75 to Atlanta and then Deal's Gap for a proper RX-8-style break-in.
And I agree that it's a pretty comfortable highway driver as long as the highways aren't too bumpy. Michigan highways tend to be the worst.
