Another deadly RX8 accident

Sorry to hear that this was a woman I work with. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family.

I wonder what caused the death. It's hard to tell but it looks survivable. Anything can happen with that much force though. Seatbelt?

Looks like Ti Gray to me. My thoughts are with her family and friends. I'm curious what happened, if there was a mechanical failure or if she lost conciousness for some reason.

That's horrible.

Seeing the factory wheels, makes me wonder if she still had the summer tires on the car. It's been well below freezing in Chicago, and I'm guessing maybe even colder where you are Tdiddy?

true but the 8 doesn't seem that badly damaged (from the space that the driver occupies). Cuz the side looks ok... I guess you can't really see inside it.

that, plus if she was say 5'3" and weighed 200+ lbs, it's like trying to protect an elephant w/ a party balloon- ie airbag aint' going to do much at that speed.

condolences.

I know it's probably on all the pic on that site but did it bother anyone else that there is an option to "buy reprint" of the pics?

A mazda color?

Thoughts and prayer go out to the family, even though the damage doesnt look that bad... that means all the energy from the impact had to go somewhere.. and if she wasnt wearing a sealtbelt... i doubt anyone would survive that

That looks pretty totaled. The front wheels are the front of the car. everything forward of them was smashed backwards. Even if both cars were doing 40, since they were traveling in opposing directions the collision would have been equal to an 80mph colision and since the 8 is lighter, it would take more impact force...

What made her cross all lanes in to and including west bound lanes hit some grass then veered back into traffic and get hit by the SUV???

A Artist can sell there work to any one they like.

Impact force is determined by the crumple zones

Ti-gray
It kinda looks survivable.......so someone close keep up on it and not to be morbid, but let's see what the autopsy says.
Either way you look at it, it's a shame.

when its your turn there is no way to avoid it. sad to see someone die specially on our cars, the impact is not that bad but looks like they were going pretty fast judging the picture, u can see inside the cabin there is damage inside. and also it was a ford explorer, that truck is way higher then the 8 and where the 8 hit the bumper the truck hit the top of the hood.

This sounds like a stroke or heart attack at the wheel; I suspect the car had AT also which could explain it re-entering traffic after migrating across all those lanes. Hopefully she was already beyond suffering at the time of impact. Rest in peace.
