Another new (and very thrilled!) owner.
Hi everyone,
Just wanted to introduce myself. I purchased an 04 MT Lightning Yellow with 58k miles on it on February 28, ended up paying around 13k after it was all said and done. Car has already had the engine recall done, as well as all flashes and TSB's (Mazda dealer got it at auction and replaced the engine due to cold start trouble, not compression loss, as well as doing any and all updates/TSB's it needed). I am pre-mixing about 4oz Idemitsu, and 2oz MMO every fillup, using only shell 93, and getting several good warmed up redlines in a day. Fluids were apparently all changed according to the records, but I plan to go with Redline in my trans and diff in the next two weeks, and am currently using Castrol GTX 5w-30, but have had my eye on redline or RP synth. Still deciding between 0w or 5w synth though.
I read the forums extensively before purchase and have finally delved into them enough to feel comfortable in introducing myself and my car. I'll have to say, it's an extremely addictive driving experience, as I had to find out the hard way. The night I purchased it, it began snowing (a rarity in Tennesse), and the next morning when pulling into work, I hit one of the low spots in our parking lot that retains water, and did a nice 3MPH slide into a parked car. Ended up replacing the stock front with the Veilside DS-GT1. It was gone about a month total, and let me tell you, I missed it like I have never missed anything before.
Well anyways, sorry to ramble, but I am very excited to be a part of this wonderful community, and to finally own one of these unique vehicles.

Thank you everyone!
And yes, I always said I'd never own a yellow car, but from some reason this one pulled me in....oh well!
I was driving from my day job to my evening business and 2 seperate carloads of 7-10 year old kids had their parents stop me at two different times to comment on it. It's kinda nice, I remember being that way when I was their age about different cars I would see. Actually makes you feel proud of something you paid for huh?

Thanks for the comments everyone. I plan to post pics first chance I get after it's cleaned up (we keep getting lots of rain lately).
Also, as a new owner I was curious if anyone that's reading has purchased the corksport dash kit. I've seen several threads about it, but most of them were related to the old group buy. I was mainly wondering how long on average it took to receive one after an order was placed, if anyone has that info.
Thanks again!

Yellow!! Yellow! Yellow!!!!!!!! oh sorry... Welcome...!:P
I hear ya... there is not one place I drive, go to, park, cruise, speed by.. that I don't get a compliment.. This color truly attracts a LOT of attention.. and then there's no denying it's a beautiful car...
Example:
One security officer to me: "What do you do, to have a car like that? I'm in the wrong business...!"
Same security officer to another security officer: "Did you see her car?" His reply... "You mean that Lamborghini??"
I just smiled!

Thanks, I plan to keep it as long as humanly possible, so I WILL take care of it.
What makes an MT LY 8 so rare compared to any other 8? I realize that they only made LY's that first year, but I thought they overproduced that first year as well. I was considering painting it one day, but now I may end up leaving it the stock yellow...
Pics coming this weekend btw, for anyone interested!
