Just wanted to confirm my suspicions that this paint is sent when you return your customer satisfaction survey. I forgot to send mine in, and found it under a pile of papers a couple of weeks ago. I mailed it, and last week my touchup paint arrived in the mail in its little plastic steering wheel.
Given that I returned the car back in October, this could only have been triggered by the receipt of my survey form.

I received my touch-up paint right before Christmas, but I had already bought a bottle! DOH! Got some rock chips from a stupid rock truck 2 lanes over!!! Oh well....guess if 1 bottle is good, two bottles of Winning Blue is even better.

Silly survey procedures
Mazda is not the only manufacturer that makes a mockery of learning what actually goes on by the way they run surveys. Acura was just as bad.
In the real world, human beings aren't perfect, but the manurfacturers punish dealers and their employees if surveys aren't returned with all perfect scores. So, in the real world, both Acura and Mazda dealers told me this, and begged me not to dump on them by giving anythiing so low as a very good rating on a single question. What nonsense!
It was even crazier in my case. Because I pre-ordered, I took up a lot of time with my salesman and the sales manager for months. Both of them gave great service. It so happened that my car was delivered on a day both of them were off. The way the questionnaire was written, I had to lie and check off several aspects of the great service they gave me that day to keep them from losing out.
What would make sense is for Mazda to send out surveys \that are returned directly to it, with a preamble in big bold type saying that they want honest answers. They should also give space for comments.
