Any Ideas on this Idea???
Ok, This is the one thing I absolutley despise. The center dash console that tells the time and what not I think it looks like a really bad old calculator. Does any one have any ideas on changing this or getting a different one. Are there any companies that have changed that any ideas opinions or what not.

Sorry, but I kinda like that "old calculator" look. But then I still use my programmable HP with an LED display, too. =o)
Seriously, it would be a major project at the least. Probably involve reprogramming and other such thorny issues. However, the Mazda3's eyebrow display is an LCD, so you might start from there, but I've no idea how difficult the conversion would be.

Is it just me, or are the latest batches of newbies really hyper-sensitive? Reminds me of those "What are you lookin' at?!" kids in grade school. Relax, dude. Nobody was making "fun" of you or your mahood. Ha ha, it was a snappy answer, pretty comedic, no big deal. Get over it. Lay off the 'roids.
Edit: By the way, bumping your own post twice on the same day you originally posted is rather excessive. If no one cares, then no one cares.

Okay, no problemo. That's a much better approach to the situation. Personally, I didn't think G8Rboy was trying to be mean to you, or I would not have encouraged him as I did. Of course, everyone perceives things differently. Welcome to the forum, by the way, and congratulations on your impending revolution.

Hell, we all have things that drive us nuts... mine is those stupid little plastic pieces that hang down in front of each wheel to deflect the wind. I hate the way they look.
magixpuma here is bugged by the look of the LED central display. I can see why Mazda used this type of display rather than LCD, which washes out in direct light, but I can see how it would bug him too.
As far as "stupid" questions, the only ones are the ones that people don't ask. I think this one is legitimate. I don't have an answer though... but the Mazda 3 display is worth looking at.

I like the display. It fits the rest of the interior design and is unobtrusive -- not like a lot of over-the-top stereo displays you see now. I guess you could say the red LED and minimalist approach is reminiscent of early LED calculators. To me that's a good thing. reminds me of the "Bowmar Brain" I got back in Jr. High. Less than $100 and it even did square-roots! That was high-tech

The display is realy an LCD display. It is reversed from a calculator. When current is applied to a pixel, It allows light to pass through. The spedo works on the same concept. This tecknowlegy, as well as the Electrolumenesent backlighting on the analoge guages, Is used in modern aircraft.
