Any more complaints about the 8?
In the past few weeks a lot of complaints about the 8 had appeared here , from very silly things such as front end wandering, to massive damage in heavily
abused cars (engine, tranny, and diff. in one of them). First i had been the owner
of many sportscars in over 30 years, all of them to my satisfaction, and the RX-8
so far has been the best. It is a very well rounded piece of machinery, nice styling, marvelous high revving engine, very good suspension and brakes, all at a bargaing price. So why all these complaints?. If you abuse a stock car trying to make it perform like a race car, and break it, them dont complaint and expect the
dealer to understand it and honor a limited warranty on it. This is a great little car
that needs a little time to evolve, please dont kill it with all these.

First off, lots of trolls like to come here and bash the '8. Why? Jealousy.
Secondly, the very nature of a forum like this makes small problems that get discussed often begin to look like big things even when they're not. For instance, just reading about replaced engines and transmissions would make it look like this is a common occurance. In reality, it's less that 1% of all the '8s sold.
I agree with you - the RX-8 is an awesome car... and most of us here agree with you. Perfect? No. But damn good.

I was just disagreeing to disagree. (note:gsdev loves her car) I thought this site was as much about fun as it is information. Trying to make light of the complaining to create conversation. It's a defense mechanism. I thought it would be obvious by the lack of explanation. No offense intended.

Even with the low torque and sub-par MPG. It is still the very best car I ever owned. The outstanding handling yet excellent ride quality, along with the attention to detail are the things I admire most. I shall miss it greatly and learn to cope with my Galant GTS. It's when you drive something else, that makes you truly miss what a great car the RX8 really is.

I have a complaint about my RX-8: It's not my daily driver (stuck in a Company Car, a Pontiac Montana Van, for god-sakes!).
So my complaint is: I don't get to drive it near enough.
Even so, in six months of ownership, have over 6000 flawless, enjoyable, wonderful miles on it! :D

I totally agree with Riccio. My biggest complaint is that my 8 spends too much time in the garage, my garage. It's really a weekend ride.
Complaint number 2 - I can only show it off to 3 passengers at a time. The lines are getting long.
One of those passengers had a complaint of their own yesterday. They said that because of the center tunnel in the back seat, they couldn't slide over to exit on the curb side of the car and this was dangerous. Since we were in Manhattan, I guess it was a legitimate complaint. OK, new rule: no backseat passengers in Manhattan. Problem solved.
