Any One Else?

Yesterday I got in the car for the second time and was about to go shopping. I noticed the DSC/TCS light was on (the little car with the wiggly lines below it). I looked in the manual and it said the system might have a malfunction. I figured I could live without it and went ahead and drove to the store. When I got there I turned off the car and then turned the key on and off two or three times and the light went out like it was supposed to.

Anyone else had this light come on and stay on?

I'm going to mention it to the dealer next time I take it in, just curious if it's happened to anyone else. The only other thing that was different yesterday was it was pretty cold outside and I noticed my brakes were squeaking in the cold weather (today no squeaks, warmer weather).

well first the brakes...there is a TSB on this your dealership will replace the pads, no more squeaks or screeching

as for the DSC/TCS did you detach the battery recently, specifically sometime before the light went on? I'm guessing not but if you did that would cause the light to come on as you need to 'calibrate' the dsc/tcs...all you have to do is turn the steering wheel all the way to the right, all the way to the left, then turn off the car. Now startup again and it will be gone.

Good luck figuring this out

I didn't do anything to the battery, it was cold outside but that's about it as far as anything unusual and when I say cold I'm not talking about arctic freeze, more like in the 30's-low 40's (for CA that IS cold). I'll try your technique if it happens again before I can take it in. So far the brakes are okay now that I'm back home in my normal 40's-50's low.
