Any recall for 07' RX-8
Am considering buying a 07' RX-8, couple of questions:
1. How many recalls are there for 07' RX-8? The only one I know is the MSP16 "service", anything else?
2. After a quick search on the forum, I found that most engine-flooding problem occurs on 04-05 RX-8, I barely see any complain for 06/07/08 RX-8. Does that mean the newer model has fixed this problem?
3. Anything special I should pay attention to when checking the car out? It currently has 20K mileage.
Thanks1

1. MSP16, only 1.
2. my Rx-8 never flood. its a 05.
3. You should first check the stuff that you would check for any other car ---- body damage. after its ok then u start checking for mechanical stuff, like did the previous owner change oil on time, did he do any tuned up to the car. etc.

are there any 07 RX-8 owners that care to share some experience?
The owner mentioned that he has all the service records, so I will definitely check it out. Other than that, do you think a mechanic check (e.g., compression test) is necessary for a car that is less than 3 years old?

ask question in your region forum and see which mazda dealer is good. that should help you out.
and ALWAYS, ask the previous owner why is he selling the car, its a trick question. look at his reaction, if it smells fishy, run away from it.

I have a 07. bought it with 12K miles on it. up to 17K now
no problems so far. Its tough though. after reading all these stories on unreliability, i'm always expecting something to happen, but nothing yet.
i had a compression test done and full check-up before i bought it and everything was fine.

thanks all for sharing your stories. did you ever turn off the engine cold (occasionally of coz), or your are following the warm-up procedures religiously?

Now on a sidenote, now I think about it, this whole engine flooding is really not new-stick-driver-friendly. Apparently, Mazda just don't want any new driver to buy their cars.
Fire engine...release clutch...oops, stall the car,
Fire engine...release clutch...oops, stall the car again,
Fire engine...release clutch...oops...
Engine Flooded!
hahaha

If I were starting it dead-cold (not run in 12 hours or so) and moving it only a few feet, I'd probably let it warm up before shutting it off, but I've never had to do that. It has never failed to start for me.
Flooding isn't much of an issue for '07s, as far as I can tell. The '07 has the bugs worked out, to get more reliable you'd need an '09 or '10.
