..flea dust and (oh my god) cat hair?...on your car? Boy you have a lot to worry about. If you're talking being on the metal....hard to see a problem with that....inside the car and if you have cloth seats...maybe. A couple of my cats and esp. one thinks my 8 is the "cat's meow", so I just put an old towel or blanket I use in my trunk up on the sunroof when I get out and she sleeps on that. She really gets happy and purring up there, it's funny to watch.
It's amazing how the cats use only the pads of their little paws and never ever scratch anywhere, in fact they just s-l-i-d-e down the glass or the hood which as a lot of polish on it. I guess some cats just have excellent taste in cars ...if you really don't want your cat up their I'd get a can of 'cat away' spray you can get at a pet store to keep them off furniture and spay a bit of that where ever on the car. It should give them the message and won't harm the cat.
They're basically sprays that have a citrus smell. It should keep them clear away as they don't like that particular smell. Cheaper alternatives are just lemon juice in a spray bottle with water.
