Any word? Or is it still vapor?

 

word floating thru irvine this past weekend was "delayed" but we were also told something exciting will be at New York auto show

 

"Delayed" is a relative term. Most of us wanted one yesterday, no $hit it's delayed.

 

who knows... hopefully something comes out of that white concept car they made.
but right now everything seems to be focused on making mazdaspeed models of the other cars they sell

 

All the released MazdaSpeed versions have come out just prior to a major model change.

errr.... if they don't release a mazdaspeed modle soon... then by the time they DO release one, wouldn't it be done for a face lift already?

 

Most likely when its released...a heavily modified version of the 8, or a "7", would come out the next year.

 

If Mazda comes out with a Turbo or SUpercharger, will they make it available to other RX8 owners who want it? Similar to other Mazdaspeed upgrades.

 

at most, the engine upgrade parts may be available through Mazdaspeed Motorsport Development as racing equipments, ie no warranty of any type whatsoever.

of course, if you don't have the ECU programming for FI, what's the point of getting the hardware anyway, unless you go standalone (if that's even possible in the 8 :o )

 

If they develop FI, then of course the standard ECU would need to be reprogrammed. If and when you purchase the FI unit through Mazda and also have them install it, then I am assuming the install would inlcude the ECU upgrade. That's my hopes.
